The Manager

   I don't know if I should actually do this, Manny thinks to himself. He sighs and crawls into his old truck. It's paint is rusting off and it's not anything new but it was something. Manny loves this truck with everything, especially the old faded blue color.
    
     The weather is cold. It's cloudy and you could tell it rained that morning. The wind smells of mud and rain. It's a nice smell.

    The trees pass by and Manny soon arrives in front of the luxury bath spa.
    
     I know I gotta do this. MacDonas wasn't cutting it for me. Just gotta walk in and do the interview

     Manny exits the truck and the crispy cool air hits him. He pulls his sweater closer to himself and adjusts his beanie. It's cold.

     The building is made of wood. The wood is soaked from the rain this morning. There's puddles on the dark ground. Manny walks up the steps and opens the heavy wooden door. The warm air hits his face and Manny could tell his nose is now red.

     There's a lady dressed in a brown suit sitting at the desk. She's pretty.
  
     "Hi are you here for the interview?"

     Manny nods his head.
   
     "Okay, Mr. Polanco will be conducting the interview. He should be ready for you in that office right over there." The lady gives Manny a warm smile.

     The building is nice and warm. There's a hint of humidity in the air. Manny pulls his wool sweater off exposing his black button up. He makes his way towards the office. This door is different than all the others.

     Manny knocks on the door.

     "Come in."

     Manny let's out a breath and walks into the office. This man is sitting on a black leather chair. The office is nothing like the rest of the building. It's all fancy and modern. The humidity in the air is gone from the room and it's now cold.

"Close the door behind you and have a seat"

     Manny closes the door and sits down on a black leather seat that's placed in front of the managers desk. He's just sitting there staring into his laptop making the occasional clicking noises of the laptop and the mouse. Manny shifts uncomfortably in his seat.

     "Okay Manny. Why do you want to work here?"

"I needed a job to help out my family. I discovered this on an ad. I figured I liked the ambience of this place and wanted to work here."

     "Okay. Why should I hire you?"

"I am available at all times. I am reliable and I am a quick learner. I can also pick up any shifts needed."

      The man looks at Manny seemingly interested. Shit I gotta say something more.

"Please sir. I'd do anything for this job. Anything you'd ask of me" I'll even scrub the toilet! Manny thinks to himself.

     "Okay"  The man sitting across from Manny gives him a smirk.

     Manny shifts in his seat and bites his lip.

     The man chuckles. "You're hired Manny. Would you be able to come on tomorrow during opening for your training?"
 
"Yeah, I mean yes sir."

     "Thank you have a nice day."

     Manny nods his head and quickly makes his way out of the building. He is hit once again with the cold air outside. He quickly gets in his truck and let's out a breath of air he didn't know he was holding.

     That was intense. He seems like a layed back guy but he also looks somewhat cold. It's kinda hot.....God damn it Manny why would you think about this right now?"

     Manny drives home and throws his stuff on the couch. He makes his way over to his bathroom and turns on the shower. He removes his clothes and enters letting the hot water hit his chest. He leans against the wall of his small shower and enjoys the water for a little bit. Then he remembers the man's eyes. Those cold brown eyes. Then his lips when he smirked at him. Damn. Manny quickly turns the water to ice cold.
