I was just a puppet. They used me to kill thousands of people. I still regret the day I left the house...

I hid under the covers as usual. My parents were arguing again. I carefully moved my blanket and climbed out of bed. I went to the window, opened it a little, and looked out. It might have been ten o'clock in the evening. I was tired but couldn't sleep. Even if I tried my hardest, it wouldn't work. The walls were very thin, so you could hear every word.

"How dare you beat our child?!" Mom yelled. I touched my face with a shakey hand. I had several patches on it. This time my father took a knife on me. Luckily, mom arrived in time. He only managed to give me a few cuts. They weren't even deep, thank god. "It's not my fault that I have such a stupid son!" replied father. I bet the whole house heard this. I reached for the jacket I had lying on the bed.

I thought for a while. About what? About everything possible. One part of me wanted to run, but the other wanted to stay. I was hoping for a miracle. I hoped that my father would stop drinking alcohol and everything would be like before. I turned back to the window. The thoughts have already disappeared, and I finally made up my mind. I threw my jacket on and opened the window. With closed eyes, I enjoyed the pleasant breeze. I completely forgot all of my worries. I climbed onto the windowsill and jumped. Yes, I jumped. I probably landed wrong. A sharp pain shot through my entire body. I immediately grabbed my ankle, I must have sprained it. After a while, I let go and stood up carefully. I took a deep breath, the worries were gone. They all left my body and went to someone else. I turned around one last time and said, "Today was the last time I saw you mom," a smile appeared on my face, but it didn't last long. I felt something being stuck into my throat and then there was only darkness. Nothing more. No pain. No worries. No fear. Just darkness.

"Sir, he's awake!" someone shouted. His voice was far away. Too far. I didn't recognize that voice. I couldn't place it anywhere. Then I started hearing strange noises. They were getting closer to me. First a scream, then a man's voice, and then a gunshot. It freaked me out. Where am I?!

YAHOOO! I want to welcome you to my new book, this one might not last very long, but I've been pretty bored so why not do it, right? :3
