"You thought I wouldn't find out! You didn't think that I would find your father's necklace, didn't you?! Since you wanted it so much-" my mom snatched my necklace and cursed me to die when the red rose I was holding on to rots away.

"You are cursed to die when the red rose in your hands rots away!" She yelled at the top of her lungs.

"MOM, PLEASE-" I tried to apologize, but she walked out before I could even get the chance to.

I stared at the rose in my hand and held it close to my chest, crying my eyes out. I was disgusted that my own mother would disown me for missing my father. He was the only one who understood me, unlike my evil mother. I heard the door crack open and I immediately wiped my tears, it's just the guards with... my luggage?

"Why do you have my luggage?" I said, taking it away from the guard.

"You're being sent to the beast's Castle, you can no longer stay in this Castle. Sorry to do this, Princess Eunchae" He said with a guilty look on his face.

I cried some more before snatching my luggage and running off into the forest, opposite of the beast's Castle. I heard the guards yelling my name, but I couldn't bring myself to look back. I saw this dark cabin and I immediately ran into it. I heard the guards stop for a second, but they kept running, making me sigh in relief.

"Who are you?" A crackling voice asked from the dark, making me gasp out of pure terror.

"Oh! Pardon my intrusion, I didn't know anyone lived here. I'm princess Eunchae, Daughter of Queen Yeri." I said, bowing in the direction of which the voice spoke.

"A princess? In this deep forest, there must be a good reason that you're present here." The voice said before a torch lit up, showing an old woman with a black cloak on. A cauldron placed in front of her with a pet snake hanging around her neck.

"I actually ran away from the Castle. This cabin was the first thing I saw, I'm sorry." I said, my head hanging low and my eyes focused on the ground.

"Don't be sorry, Dear. You must be starving from all that running, aren't you? Come, come sit." She insisted, pulling up a chair. I honestly couldn't refuse, as the food did smell absolutely delicious.

I sat down in the chair that was placed across from her and thanked her for the food. The more I looked at her, the more she looked like my mom, when she wasn't so wicked. I was so focused on her that I didn't even realize she was calling my name.

"Eunchae, darling? Are you feeling alright?" She said as she came over and placed her hand on my shoulder.

"Oh right! I'm fine, sorry. You just remind me of someone." I said, saddened by how much she resembled my mother.

Why did my mother have to turn out so evil? Ever since father died, she has become so cruel. There was someone she talked to before she became so cruel and evil, but I don't remember who. I looked at the lady and tried so hard to remember her face.

"I never caught your name, miss?" I looked up at her, tilting my head. She sighed, not saying anything.

She didn't answer, she just walked to the kitchen and made dessert. She completely ignored my question and ignored me completely. I looked down at the table and continued eating my food, sadness washing over me. I finish my food and washed the plate, walking back to bid farewell. She quickly stopped me and gestured for me to sit back down.

"A bad tree creates bad fruit." She said, looking at me. My father always told me that when anything bad happened.

She closed her eyes and inhaled before speaking,

"My name is Tae-hee , mother of Yeri." She said, sitting back down.

I suddenly remembered the face that talked to my mom after my father's passing.

"It was you?!"
