Prologue: The Sundering

It was a rather sunny day. Warmth radiated off of the soft grasses of the ancient land of The Forbidden Spires. Cities of eastern culture left to be well preserved in time, and the carvings of terracotta warriors decorating the inside and outside of temples. Ornate landscapes untouched for centuries, or barely traveled. Many places giving ohmage to mighty dragons as well.

Some temples were still used by dwellers of the land, training warriors as they always had, if not for the preparation of war, then just to learn discipline and control over themselves and the magic some of them possessed. Ice Sages learning to harness their abilities like one would control a storm, Knights becoming as fearsome as the eastern warriors of old, and some Shadow Hunters in some actual sense, hunting the shadows cast from evil beings or even themselves.

There was a small group of brave Trovians that desired to learn the true art of the blade and the bow, with no magic to assist them. They were the Boomerangers, a class of warrior fit to stand with a group or tough it out alone within reason. While they did not possess magic themselves, they carried a bag on there backs that would give them bombs to throw, or a randomized urn that did various things. It was always a coin toss if they chose to use this particular item.

These were simply four types of Trovian warriors out of all that inhabited Trove. A world full of biomes, mass amounts of life, and even minerals to mine. A life here for many long years was peaceful. The worst of the enemies being feral dragons or the wildlife that became aggressive if approached. Of course, some factions had small battles, but the majority had the same belief, they all knew the Sun Goddess to be the one to rule over them and keep relative peace among them. The Sun Goddess was worshipped and revered as the holy light within the soul and the sky itself. There was another ruler as well, the one who the Lunar Lancers, a fox hybrid with the speech and intelligence of the rest of the Trovians, worshipped and revered as their leader, that being, the Moon Goddess. The two sisters ruled over their time of the day and over their creations side by side for many years, though slowly, a rivalry was building between the two, and a divide began to take place between the two sisters.

This tale begins with one Trovian who is sixteen, with orange hair and a sparkle in hus eyes, graduating with others in his training that began two and a half years ago. His name was Ryder. His hair went to his shoulders and was neatly kept, it was a nice orange color, and he had amber colored eyes, fair skin that had darkened slightly with the tanning from the sun. He was pretty courageous but was only more animated when with someone he knew well. He took his training seriously and always loved a good hike through the valley and the mountain ranges that were always nearby. He was an explorer of sorts, a free and nearly wild spirit that knew not the bounds or limitations.

This was encouraged by his master, with whom, was the only one that would take him and his more erratic behavior. harnessing it to better Ryder's skills and make him less predictable in battle... Which proved to be a huge task, as Ryder was more of a creature of habit. It was odd that someone with a wild mind, preferred the steady and habitual things.

While Ryder prepared himself for the graduation that would soon start, his master came in and wanted to speak with him. Ryder was a little nervous as he walked up to him. "Master Akira, what are you doing here?" He asked, looking curious since he never walked over to him unless he had something important to say.

Akira bowed back and spoke softly, a smile adorning his face, he was an older man, a Shadow Hunter in his younger years. "It isn't of great importance. I simply came to see you before you go home," he looked Ryder up and down, giving a small chuckle as he visibly relaxed. "You've grown well young cricket. I remember the days you couldn't pull the string back on your bow."

Ryder realized that he wasn't about to get another stern talk and chuckled softly. "I think that was because you gave me the heaviest bow possible master... But I did try."
