I exited my bedroom because I was prepared for today. I was excited. Then I met my mom's face.
"Hey honey," Her face looked sad. I think she must've cried last night. I mean I did hear some whining last night.
"Hey mom," I answered.
"I have some bad news," She said, "And they're big..."
Oh no. When she says they're big is because something is really wrong.
"Yeah? What are they?" I wanted to get it over with already.
"The government added a game and they're encouraging it," She said, "It's called J-I-N-X. I can't say the word, or you could die..."
"I get it, but why is the government adding this?"
"No one knows... but everyone we kill we receive money," Mom said.
"How much?" Of course, I was curious.
"100,000"
My jaw dropped open. 100,000!? Is that how much humans are worth!? Well, that's still money I can use by killing Ophelia.
"Look honey, I don't want you to play this game," she said.
"But I want to kill Ophelia," I accidentally blurted out.
"Well, you can't," Mom said.
"Fine," I hissed. I really wanted to kill her. But, actually, how is my mom going to know? It's impossible.
"Go to school, you'll be late," she said.
"Yeah mom," I nodded.
I walked to school. Once I got there, I put my backpack inside my locker. I was greeted by my best friend Veva.
"Hey girl!" Veva said, "Did you hear about-"
I cut her off, "Yeah."
"You didn't even listen to what I sa-"
I cut her off again, "The game. The J-I-N-X game."
"Yeah! My mom told me already to not play this game," she said.
"Same, but you know what? I'm using it on Ophelia before she uses it on me," I laughed.
"Didn't you hear? Her own father jinxed her, and she died," Veva said.
"What!?" I was more shocked, except my brain wanted to say 'Oh come on! I wanted to kill her'. But her own dad killed her?
"I know right. That's evil," Veva said, "More things happened too. I... you remember how I told you that my twin sister was mean to me?"
"Yeah I remember," I nodded.
"Well my mom had enough of her so sh-she jinxed her and- I..." Veva stuttered.
"Don't tell me you killed your mom!" I questioned.
"I didn't kill her. I just- I... my own sister, my other half, getting killed by this game, especially infront of me. I-I'm just scared of what this game can do to you. You can lo-loose family members. I-I'm afraid," She stuttered.
"We all are afraid," I said, "We'll get through this. Treat it as a pandemic."
"I-I'll try..." She walked away.

Class with Mr. Johnson was absolutely boring. We had to learn about chemical love, and no one was interested. It seemed like he didn't catch the clue. I turned around to a nervous Kirka staring at me."What happened?" I asked her, although we are strangers to each other because we don't even talk.
"My dad died this morning because of this terrible game," Kirka said.
"Oh, that's sad," I whaled.
"Are you even sad at all?" She asked.
"No. Not really."
"You'll regret that," I knew she wanted to jinx me, so I took charge.
"Jin-"
I cut her off, "JINX!"
She shut up. No one in the class had noticed Kirka was jinxed. No one turned around, but the room gasped when she collapsed to the floor. Mr. Johnson was confused.
"What's going on students?"
"Someone jinxed Kirka! She's dead!" A student said, it was Janice.
"Oh no!" Mr. Johnson replied. I could tell it was sarcasm because anyhow every single bimester Kirka would have a 0 on his class so he didn't care much.
But woah. I didn't believe this game was actually real.
Kirka was rushed to the hospital as we were dismissed early to recess. Veva came rushing to me, apparently, she already knew what had happened.
"Have you heard? Kirka-"
I cut her off, "Got jinxed. Yeah, I know, she was in my class."
"Ah. I forgot," She grinned. She always forgot things, but I was used to it by now.
"Anyways, let's go to the cafeteria and eat."
I would bring homemade food and she would order from the cafeteria. It would get crowded, but we have our small spot to eat and that's fine. We also eat with two of Veva's friends: Riley and Sy.
