The Carmichael manor was an exquisite-looking house. Three stories, nice sized kitchen, and bedroom, beautiful stairs, nice living room, and kitchen. Then three boys have been living there their whole lives. Kleo and Kamran stayed after their father passed away while Kai decided that Washington would be better for him to go to get a fresh new start in the world. Little do they know they have a magical awakening ahead of them.

✦Magic Hour✦

It was a rainy night in Santa Clara. Kamran sat by the window watching the pretty raindrops fall and hit the street. Kleo sat in his bedroom writing new lessons from his senior classes to write. He never thought that he would be a high school teacher, but he also never expected to live with his brother in their old childhood house, but, hey he's not complaining. About thirteen minutes into his drawing the power cut for the second time in the night. "God I have to find someone to fix that," he said before turning on his flashlight and going towards the stairs.

"Kleo! The power is down again!" Kamran yelled while searching for his phone. "Yeah, I know," he said, looking down at him from the staircase. "Didn't grandpa have the electricity looked at before he passed?" the youngest asked as he turned his flashlight on and walked toward the end of the stairwell to meet his brother. "Yes, he did," he said, making it to the end of the stairs. "Now what were you doing down here? hope you're not switching your majors and minors again," he said walking past him and heading to the basement door. "What do you mean? I have my major set," he said, trailing behind him, causing Kleo to stop in his tracks. "Neuroscience? dropped. Child and youth studies? dropped again. Philosophy, do I even have to say it?" Kleo asked, pointing the flashlight in his face.

"If I do will you stop criticizing me?" he asked receiving a nod 'yes' from his brother. He laughed and shook his head a little before walking to the stairs. He was about to start going up before he shot his head toward the door. He had heard someone playing with the lock. Thinking it was an intruder, he instinctively grabbed a lamp and slowly crept toward the door. The door opened and he was ready to swing but stopped once his brother Kai walked in. "Kai?" he questioned lowering the lamp. "No! It's an intruder- of course, it's me!" he yelled before laughing and hugging his younger brother. "I thought you weren't coming back until later," he said after they split and the power came back on. "I tried calling but the power was out," he said looking up at the lights. "I wanted to call Kleopatra but he must have been fixing the lights again," he said as he walked towards the couch.

Just as he sat down the lights turned back on. Kleo always thought about calling an electrition but never did because the prices would be too high. "I see it's raining really bad outside," Kam said as he looked at his soaked brother. "Shit crazy outside. When I was flying here it was fine," he said as he removed his coat and gave it to his brother to have on the rack. "But when I got off the plane it was raining like crazy." as he finished talking, Kleo came up. "Kam! I think it's time we call an election!" he yelled before rounding the corner to see his other younger brother. "Hey you," he said walking over to him and hugging him. "It's been like 2 years since you've been home. How have you been?" "I've been good. Work in Toronto isn't as bad as I thought." he finished as he stared up the stairs.

"Don't take too long upstairs. We're watching a movie before the power cuts again." Kai yelled quickly 'Ok!' before heading to his old room. Kleo sat on the couch next to Kamran and started choosing a movie. "What do we plan on watching?" he said to himself as he was going through the movies category on Netflix. "How about The Blair Witch? It is Kai's favorite movie for some reason," he said while watching him scroll through the horror topic. "You're right. I'm gonna go yell it," he said while getting to do a quick jog over to the bottom of the stairs. "Kai! We're watching Blair Witch!" he shouted up the stairs. When he heard no response from his brother, he turned toward Kam and gave him a confused look just to get a shoulder shrug from him. "Kaiser?!" he shouted, again getting no response. He then started to go up the stairs and to his brothers' room. "Hey wait for me!" he said quickly following behind his older brother.
