Chapter 4

A lot has happened, sorry I've been away I have a lot of chronic pain so I don't have much time or energy for writing :( however I have recently started a new medication so I should be able to update more in the next few weeks if I start getting better.

Anyway this is the Saturday of the meetup.

Saturday couldn't come quick enough, but now I was sitting on the floor in front of my closet trying to pick an outfit. I love all my clothes, but today nothing seemed perfect. A t-shirt and jeans seemed too simple, a shirt and overalls didn't quite fit the vibe I wanted today and almost everything else made me feel like it was going to be a date, I had hoped we'd have those cheesy lines like "is it a date" "only if you want it to be" but I was far to nervous to ask that and Wilbur would never be interested in me, not like that. He had very attractive girls, and quite a few guys, practically throwing themselves at him, what with him being famous and handsome and besides, he was straight.

It took me half an hour of switching between scrolling through tiktok and trying to pick and outfit before I finally decided on jeans and a cute sweater. It was almost time to leave and I was getting more and more nervous as the minutes ticked by, what if he didn't turn up and this was some kind of prank, what if I spill coffee on myself and he laughs at me, what if I'm late and he gets annoyed at me. My alarm rang, breaking me out of my anxious stupor and I quickly turned it off, putting my shoes on and quickly leaving my apartment.

The lift finally comes down to my floor and I walk in, waiting for the doors to close when I see a man with long hair running down the hall carrying what looks to be a white pom pom. I hold the doors open for him and he runs into the lift, catching his breath and thanking me profusely. "Thank you so much, by the way I'm Darryl". As Darryl and I talk I notice the thing in his arms was not a pom pom and was, as he told me, a dog named Lucy although his friends called her Rat.

The coffee shop was warm which was nice after the cool afternoon air .and I instantly felt comfortable. Looking around the shop I spot Wilbur's fluffy brown hair and famous yellow sweater in a booth. He looked so handsome and I could tell some girls were checking him out and honestly, I was to.

I walked to our booth, sliding into the seat opposite him. Wilbur looked up from his phone and smiled when he saw me. 

(Wilbur's pov)

I look up as someone sits in front of me. I almost lose my breath as I see how pretty him is, I knew he'd be attractive from his Instagram posts but this is a whole other level. I start as I realise he's asked me a question.

"Pardon"? He smiles as I start talking. Damn I know I just wanted to meet up but this really feels like a date. Wait what? A date? But I'm straight, aren't I? I know I have found men attractive before but I've only dated girls, but that's only because I never had the confidence to ask out a guy. Maybe I'm not straight after all.

A laugh from y/n startles me out of questioning my sexuality, that can wait. I just want to impress him. "Yeah?" I ask, y/n smiles and repeats "would you like to take a photo for the fans" and I quickly agree, he moves to sit next to me and after confirming it's okay, I put an arm around his shoulders. He smells like coffee.

(y/n's pov)

He removes his arm from around my shoulders as the waitress comes over to get our orders. Wilbur ordered a Latte and a croissant and I got an iced coffee with an apple Danish and we continue talking.

It was dark by the time we left the coffee shop and Wilbur could see how nervous I was to walk home in the dark so he offered to walk me and I happily accepted, grateful that he cared and was okay spending more time with me.

After getting home I had a moment of confidence and offered Will to crash at my place tonight as it was getting late and he'd have an even longer walk to his place.
