My hands cascade over the vines of my plant as I string the thin vine across my wall and over the doorway to my kitchen. The sun rays shine brightly through my big windows. The sounds of cars quietly whisping by two floors beneath me. My dog lays in the sun in her new fluffy bed next to my chair, her white hair shining bright in the rays.

I take a step back, aligning myself with the front door to see the view of what my apartment will look like to the new people I meet when I bring them over for the first time.

I'm finally done unpacking. It has taken me 2 weeks of almost nonstop putting furniture together and going to flea markets every other day to get the  miscellaneous items for decor and such.

All of my plants made the long trip from Arkansas to California without a problem and thats all I was really worried about. My mom and dad had helped me make the move and unload my things but they had to get back to Arkansas as they have jobs, of course.

They are super sad I'm moving so far away but they have always been supportive of my dreams. They have known I wanted to live in a big city ever since I was little. I'm from a small town of only around 12,000 people. Everyone knows everyone just about. Super religious area as well and being a spiritual person makes it hard to make friends as everyone is extremely judgemental.

"Do you want to go for a walk, Willow?" I ask my 3 year old, pure white pitbull. She wakes from her slumber with a huge smile, her tail wagging vigorously making her body wiggle, something I love so much about her.

I slip her collar over her neck and we make our way down the stairs and out on to the city streets. The sun continues to rise over the slight fog from the tempature drop last night. The air brushes across my skin, leaving goosebumps in its wake.

The morning breeze smells fresh as the sounds of the city fills my ears. I do miss the birds singing in the morning, the bugs creaking at night. The city is definitely completely different sounds than living on a farm. I've never been much of a farm girl so I'm so happy to be where I've wanted to be for so long.

Willow and I walk a few blocks to the coffee shop I found a few days ago. We walk in and Sarah, the barista, recognizes Willow and shouts her name in excitement.

"Good morning lovely ladies! How are we doing this morning?" She asks as she is now bent down giving Willow pets.

"Finally got my apartment unpacked and ready to get out there and start taking pictures," I smile happily as she resumes her position behind the bar and washes her hands.

"Oh that's exciting! I would love to show you around some time! I know a few good places that you could take some amazing pictures," She cooes as she makes my order. She is so sweet, literally remembering who I am and my order in just 2 days.

"I'll have to take you up on that sometime," I reply, thanking her for the coffee and exchanging it for money before saying our goodbyes and continuing on our walk.
