It was bright. Too bright. The sky was on fire, yet I couldn't do a thing. The screams were too real, slowly fading as the fire grew brighter. My home had become hell.
My body moved on its own. Diving down I grabbed one of the attacking dragons with my talons. They tried to fight back with their flames, but I threw them into the rock wall close by, cutting them off. Landing, I quickly leaped on top of the dragon, sinking my extended talons into their underbelly. And with a quick movement of my wing, I ripped their belly open.
Leaping away from the dying dragon, I changed my attention to a dragon who was attaching a younger wyvern. I quickly made my way over to the young wyvern, leaping onto a red dragon's back. The dragon hissed and started trying to shake me off their back. Baring my teeth, I tried to sink my fangs into the dragon's neck but was thrown off by a black dragon who had just joined the fight.
Quickly getting up from the ground, I looked back over at the dragons only to see them ganging up on the young wyvern. Quickly I launched my tail at the snout of the black dragon, stunning them for a second before I quickly sunk my teeth into the black dragon's neck, shaking my head wildly.
The dragon roared in pain and slashed my neck with its own claws, trying to make me let go. Hissing at the pain, I ripped back my head one more time, ripping out the black dragon's neck. It instantly dropped onto the floor, gurgling on its own blood before dying. I looked up at the red dragon but was shocked after seeing it.
The red dragon snapped the younger dragon's neck and grinned over at me. It was as if it was trying to make me angrier than I already was.
That was then something finally snapped inside of me. My vision turned red as I leapt towards the red dragon. That was the only thing I remembered before I blacked out.
When I woke up, I found myself in the middle of a battlefield. Looking down at myself, I couldn't help but notice how my once blue scales were now covered in a brilliant red. Looking around I see myself surrounded by brutally murdered dragons and wyverns. It was quiet. Way too quiet. The sky's once burning, now was decorated with red. A smell hung in the air as well, The smell of death and destruction.
I winced as I stood up. I was covered in burn marks and scratches, probably from fighting dozens of dragons. I walked, and walked, and walked, until I was at the edge of the clouds.
There was no home for here anymore. Everyone was dead, even the dragons whom I had looked up to as a child. My friends and family wouldn't have survived. They weren't fighters, just pacifists. The complete opposite from me, but at least they were in a better place now.
Looking down from the edge of the cloud, I could see the ground below. Down there must be better than up here. As long as it isn't as quiet as it is up here. I really hate this silence.
Without a second thought, I closed my eyes and fell into the sky below. Letting the wind blow against my wings as I freefall down to the ground.
Living on the ground must be different than living on clouds. But I can't help but ask a question. Will there be enough prey for me? Will the animals down here try to harm me. Are there any dragons stupid enough to live down here unnoticed?
I sighed and opened my arms wide, wide enough to allow me to stop in the air for a few seconds. I then flapped my wings to stay in the same spot and not plummet any farther. I then scanned the surroundings around myself.
Just a couple of long and large dens, some with loads of glass and others with glowing signs. There were also a couple of small animals on the small paths, they seemed to be walking around doing things. Kinda looks like a couple of ants working to get something. There were also these small beasts, looks like two of them had crashed into each other, several other beasts were doing nothing about it.
I looked away from all the chaos down there and extended my wings further and tilted them a different angle. And with that I was flying high above the large and long dens. Trying my best to not get spotted by any of those things, but it was most likely that they would notice the blood dripping from me. They were probably too stupid to understand what it meant anyway.
Not looking back, I continued to make my way in a random direction. Let's just hope that I happen to stumble onto a place for myself. I'm getting a bit hungry.
