Part 4
🌊

Dr. Ved Malhotra was a lot of things, but unmindful was not one of them, so forgetting to tell Dr. Arishka Kapoor where he lived gave him immense discomfort. He was worried. Time was passing by and the young doctor was nowhere to be seen or heard from. Ved thanked God for the international clients changing their meeting date to the following week, because the files weren’t with him, he had to show the presentation and the stats to them which would be impossible without the info files, and also because all Ved could focus on was Dr. Arishka and why she wasn’t there, most importantly, what must’ve happened to her ?

Did something bad happen ? Did she lose her way ? What if-
Ved shook his head violently.
No ! What was he thinking ?! Nothing bad happened.
So why wasn’t she there ?!
Ved was fighting with his mind when he realised he had been foolish enough to wait for so long without calling her.
Yes, that could just remove all his tension.

Ved picked up his phone and quickly called her number. As the number of rings increased from one to two to three, his tension increased. Before his mind could go back to the bad thoughts, a chirpy voice answered.

“Hello ?”

“Dr. Arishka Kapoor ! Where are you ?! Why aren’t you here yet ?! Are you lost ?! Where the hell are you ?! I’ve been waiting for the past thirty minutes now ! How can you be so careless and irresponsible-“

“Woah woah woah. Stop right there, Dr. Malhotra.” said Arishka cutting off Ved abruptly.

“I am at your house, in fact, I’ve been here for the past ten to fifteen minutes, but you apparently are nowhere to be seen.” said Arishka, annoyance in her voice.

Ved furrowed his eyebrows, “What do you mean ? Where exactly are you ?”

“I should be asking you the same question right now. You should be ashamed for wasting a doctor’s time like this..” said Arishka.

“Stop your nonsense and stop beating around the bush. Where are you ? And what do you mean ‘my house’ ?” asked Ved, confused.

“Your house ! The big mansion kind ! Near Narayan Sweets ? Come on ! You must know your house ! The lavish house with gardens and all the extra stuff. Gosh, you are loaded for real !” said Arishka, laughing.

Ved was going to answer back when he froze in spot, realising what has actually happened. Oh no ! Oh hell no. This wasn’t really happening.

“That’s not my house.” stated Ved.

“No, it definitely is. ‘The Malhotra Mansion’. It’s clearly written on the nameplate-“ started Arishka, as-a-matter-of-factly.

“That is not my house, Dr. Kapoor !” said Ved, raising his voice, startling her.

“Now, tell me, how on earth did you end up there ?” asked Ved, dead serious.

“Well, your friend. Dr. Gaurav. I asked him. He offered to bring me to your house. I had less time so-“ said Arishka, confused.

Oh shit ! Goddamn piece of work, that Gaurav ! Ved was angry. He was annoyed to say the least.

He took a deep breath, “Dr. Kapoor, I need you to leave that house right now and come to location I’m sending you.”

“What ?” yelled Arishka.

There was a sudden spurge of sound, music actually, in the background, which unabled Arishka to hear what Ved said.

“Dr. Kapoor can you hear me ?”

“What ? Dr. Malhotra, I can’t hear you. Say louder.” said Arishka, raising her voice.
