It was late afternoon. Guards patrolled the market to stop thieves or atrolites. large posters with 'WANTED astrolites' were hung throughout the village with a high reward of up to 10,000 Keshaisil coins.
Skaeya was about to buy a crusty loaf of bread from the baker in the market with the last coins she had. it wasn't much but enough to eat 2 meals from for her and her little brother Tyh. "You're short on money, you have to find another bakery or add another  coin," said the grumpy baker from the market. "Well what are you waiting for? get out of the line, others with plenty of coins are waiting," he raised his voice. Skaeya stepped out of the line and put the keshaisil coin back in her pocket. she was about to walk away when an idea came to her mind. Skaeya turned and grabbed the piece of bread from the basket of the baker's market stall. they put it on the run. screams formed behind her. "THIEF, THIEF, STOP HER," the baker called after her, to which guards responded and gave chase.

skaeya pushed people aside and threw baskets of food on the ground to disperse the road. she ran off the square and darted into a street of the rich with fine buildings. the street where women walked with beautiful dresses with bright colors and nice ruffles with puffed sleeves. little kids running across the street to play tag in their Sunday clothes and their angrily yelling mothers to not get their clothing dirty. skaeya could imagine how she lives in those fine buildings there with her brother Tyh and her mother, but now was not the right timing.

she sprinted into an alley, still close behind by the guards who were still yelling for her to stop and give over. something Skaeya would never do, she would never stop. she climbed over a stone wall and dove into the garbage can on the other side.
She pushed herself up with the support of the garbage bags that surrounded her. Skaeye ran on, not daring to walk until she was sure the guards had lost sight of her. she had ended up on the poor side of town where the rats were running all over the street and trash was strewn all over the place. Skaeya walked exhausted towards her sleeping place. the place normal people call home but for skaeya it was anything but home. it was just where her little brother Tyh waited for her and where she slept. she hadn't known what home was for years. she was 7 when she last really felt at home with her mother and father on the farm near the capital of keshaisil, Zurgh. where the real king used to live. now in the palace a bunch of terrorists are walking around ordering things around.

She opened the door of the half-demolished house. a rat shot in front of skaeya her feet, at first she would have been scared but she is used to it now. she ignored the other inhabitants of the house who also slept here and went up the stairs carefully hoping that no steps broke underneath her. She went down the hall to the room on her left and opened the door.
Tyh sat on one of the four mattresses crammed into the room. there was almost no space to walk and you had to climb over the mattresses. Tyh looked up at the sight of his sister and welcomed her with a warm smile on his face. his brown curls hung above his forehead. "You're finally back Skaeya," Tyh said to his sister.
Skaeya and Tyh had a strong bond together, she raised Tyh as a 7 year old girl. there had been tough times but we always got through it together.
Skaeya broke off a piece of bread and gave it to Tyh, after which she immediately said, "Here, eat." Tyh took the piece of bread and took a bite out of it. while Skaeya put the rest of the bread in a bag and tucked it into her pillow on her mattress. many things were stolen in this house by other it was filled with thieves.

Skaeya walked over to the broken window of their room. "Soon when I get some coins again I'm going to find something to close this up," Skaeya said to herself. ''It's going to be winter and I don't want the flu to break out here again'' Tyh nodded in agreement. five years ago when Tyh was 7 and Skaeya 11 years old, the flu broke out that almost killed her little brother. Skaeya was not allowed to work because she was ill. people feared that it would spread even more. there was no income and she lived on the street in the cold winter.
Skaeya shook off the bad thoughts and went back to her mattress. Tyh stared at her with his dark brown eyes. the complete opposite of the eye color Skaeya had. Skaeya had beautiful bright light blue eyes that stood out very much.
