Aurora woke up the next morning to the light shining on her face from the giant hospital window.
Letting out a groan as she shifted uncomfortably, finally realizing someone was holding her hand.
Turning to look to her side to see Wes, sitting at her side, causing her to smile slightly at the boy.
"Wes." The girl lightly called out, only to be met with a snore from the boy, causing her smile to grow. "Wes."
"Hey." Wes said, quickly sitting up in his seat, noticing the girl was awake. "How are you feeling?"
"Like I've been stabbed." Aurora sakd, letting out a light chuckle only to let out a groan in pain. "How long have you been here?"
"Mom brought me here as soon as you got admitted." Wes explained. "The twins were here too but they wouldn't let them up because it was after visiting hours."
"So how'd you manage to make your way in?" Aurora questioned.
"I told them I was your half brother." Wes said, shrugging his shoulders, causing the duo to smile at each other.
"So brother, how long am I stuck in here for?" Aurora jokingly questioned, causing the boy to chuckle.
"I think they just wanted to keep you overnight since your injuries weren't serious, so soon." Wes replied, nodding his head.
"Good." Aurora breathed out, slowly sitting up, causing the boy to quickly jump up from his seat, quickly helping her up. "Thanks."
"No problem." Wes nodded, taking a seat back in his chair. "So... what's going on with you and Chad?"
"What do you mean?" Aurora questioned, looking at the boy.
"Come on Rory. We've been best friends since elementary. I can read you like a book." Wes explained. "I mean the constant glances at each other, the looks of jealousy around Liv. I mean I know you've had a crush on the guy since middle school but it's more than that. Besides, he was actually ready to fight the security guard last night when they said he couldn't come in. Mindy had to drag him away."
"Fine. We've been secretly seeing each other for a few months." Aurora admitted, letting out a sigh.
"Rory." Wes said, looking at the girl.
"I know, I know he has a girlfriend. It's just he makes me feel... important." Aurora explained, glancing over at Wes. "We've gotten to know each other on so many levels. I mean he understands me and can tell when I'm sad, I'm mad, I'm upset. I mean we can talk for hours and never get bored. I don't know, he just makes me feel safe."
"You know what that sounds like." Wes said, causing the girl to look at him. "It sounds like you might love him."
"I don't know about that." Aurora disagreed, shaking her head. "I mean maybe."
