I hear a knock on my door

"Yes?"

"Mel, breakfast is almost ready"

"Coming down in a sec"

"Ok I'll see you downstairs"

I get out of bed and quickly put on a hoodie over my pajamas before going down stairs

"Good morning Mel"

"Morning mom"

"Are you excited for your first day of school"

Gosh I almost forgot, I really didn't feel like going... But hey, I have to unfortunately

"If I'm being honest not really"

"I get it Mel but you have to go, I got a new job so I can't homeschool you anymore, I'm sorry.
But I'm sure you'll make a lot of new friends"

"With my personality mom?"

"Melian..."

There was a quick second of silence before my mom started talking again while I continued looking at my cereal like I was a dead fish

I didn't really hear what she said but she probably said something along the lines of: "Melian your an amazing person bla bla bla I'm sure you'll make lots of new friends bla bla bla"

"Anyways I have to get ready mom, to meet my so called future friends"

"Mel your food"

I took a few quick bites before going to my room and laying down on my bed

Sigh

Yay school...

I looked at myself in the mirror, I looked like I hadn't slept for days, which is kinda true I guess

I first changed into something not to fancy, I just wore some black cargo pants and a emerald green blouse...

That's a bit better already, I put on some concealer to hide the dark circles under my eyes and brushed my hair so it doesn't look like I just stepped out of bed...

I take a step back to look at myself, I... actually look kinda nice, I never really take time to make myself look pretty but I might just do this more often, I'm a bit lazy tho so I'll probably fall back into my old habits of wearing the same hoodie for a week pretty soon.

I grabbed my bag and went downstairs

"Listen Melian I know it's hard to just change you life from one day to another and so on but I really want you to at least try to not be to sarcastic about everything, you do-"

"You don't want to make enemies on your first day. I know mom and I'll be fine I'll try to be nice"

"Try?" She looked at me with a strict but kind look

"I'll be nice" I couldn't help but smile seeing my moms face lit up, she tried to hide it but she's quite bad at it.

I waved before leaving the house and walking to my new school

It wasn't that far fortunately, but it gave me enough time to think about what I could expect

Of course I've seen movies and stuff but I can't remember what school was like, I'll probably be behind on a lot of things, that thought got me quite demotivated, I am happy for mom that she got a new job yes but I kinda miss her homeschooling me already, AND I HAVENT EVEN ENTERED THE BUILDING YET.

I try to calm myself down it would be embarrassing if someone from the school would see me cry or stressed out

I look around me to see a couple holding hands, it got me thinking

Maybe I'll find a boy I'll love in this new school, I wonder what mom would think if I came home with a boy, well not on my first day that would be weird,

I shake my head

Why am I even thinking about this kind of stuff I should be more focused on not failing classes

I was so lost in thoughts, I didn't realize I was already almost at school.

I stopped and blinked for a few seconds before looking around

Luckily there was no one paying attention to me

I went inside to be greeted by a lady...
