"You need to relax. Look where we are. Isn't this beautiful? And the best part is he didn't question us and let us come. I think that he realised that you needed it and your sister. Now please relax, and let's go and have some fun or something"

Caitlin smiled. She didn't want to say anything but a holiday was not going to fix anything. It was a nice idea to get away, but she had realised a holiday was not going to fix anything. Sure it might refresh her after everything, but everything would still be there when she got back. She would still have to deal with it. Nothing would have changed

"I don't think that a holiday will magically fix me or everything"

"Caitlin, don't be so negative. I know that a lot has happened, but we have been allowed to go away on holiday together and he didn't say anything. I don't think that anyone expected that. But we're here now so please let's just enjoy it, before we get back to reality"

"I'll try, but if I'm not good company, don't say that I didn't warn you"

Her sister grabbed her hand and led her outside

"What shall we do first?"

"I just want to go back into my room and lay down"

"Oh no you don't. Your going to have a day out with me even if I have to drag you there myself"

Caitlin sat down on the beach, and brought her knees up to her chin and hugged herself. What had happened? How had she managed to make such a big mess of her life? Her sister came and sat down next to her

"Talk to me Caitlin. What's wrong?"

"You know everything. How the hell did I manage to get into this mess? I thought I was smarter than this"

"You were thinking with your heart. The heart has no rules"

"No. No I wasn't. Don't say that. Your making it sound like he was something to me"

"Wasn't he?"

"No. He was just a friend who I talked to on the phone and didn't realise that it was Barry. And anyway you know what everything is like. Me and Barry could never be even if we somehow magically developed feelings for each other"

"Well that's what I thought. But when it comes to matters of the heart, there are no rules. You'll find a way. I mean just look at me and my husband"

"But you paid a heavy price for that. You have been completely shunned by the family"

"It's so worth it. He gives me all the love I need"

"But I'm not like you. I could never choose a guy over my family, no matter how much I love him or no matter how much dad makes me angry"

Caitlin stood up and walked to her room. She collapsed onto her bed. What was she going to do? How was she going to sort out this mess? What awaited her as she got ready to go home?

Barry was watching television, well he was trying to but he kept checking his phone every few minutes. This didn't go unnoticed by his brother

"What are you doing?"

"Nothing"

"You can't lie to me. I see what you're doing every few minutes"

"What am I doing?"

"Checking your phone. She's not going to text or call you, if that's what you're thinking about"

"I'm not"

"See I don't believe you. Your still waiting for her to call or ring you. If you're that concerned for her, why don't you make the first move?"

"I'm not"

"Stop lying. Your not fooling anyone. Your concern is written all over your face"

"Really? And why am I so concerned?"

"Because your in love with her"

Barry scoffed

"Are you in your right mind? Do you know what you're saying? Me, in love with her? As if"

"Yes I'm in my right mind. I know exactly what I'm saying"

"You're wrong. I don't love her. I can't"

"But that's what has happened Barry. Don't even try to deny it"

"No. This is wrong"

"I know that this has come as a shock to you. But I've seen how happy you were since you two started talking and when you fell out, I saw how upset you were and how much you yearned for her, even if you didn't know it was Caitlin. This yearning and pain that you felt are attributes of love. Face it Barry, you have fallen in love with Caitlin and you didn't even know it"
