Rewrite

Prologue--

"You know I'm always here if you need me right?"

You always know what to say Red.

"I know." I bite my lower lip as I try not to cry.

"Hey.. hey look at me." Red placed his finger below my chin and slightly tipped my face upwards so that I was looking at him. His 6 foot height is a monster when it comes to my 5'4"

"Let it out. If you want to cry, my shoulders always has a special place just for you." he softly said

And just with that tears started to flow from my eyes.

"It's okay, love. Just let it all go." he said while patting my back.

I am clearly aware that I was making a scene, but if your parents died a tragic death, you are entitled to making one.

"Thank you, Red." I whispered, clearly not yet done with crying.

"It's nothing Greene, you know I love you and I would do anything just to cheer you up."

My breath hiked for a second. Sure Red, you love me as a bestfriend, as the girl you grew up with, and it hurts.

"Yeah.I love you too." sooo much, if you only knew.

"So what are your plans ?" he asked.

What would a sixteen year old orphan do now?

"I'm planning on renting an apartment in the city, you know, with the money mom and dad left me.You?"

"Well I was thinking that maybe I should look for a place to stay in the city too. College's almost up and I would love your moral support." he faked a laugh.

He sucks at lying. He only wants to live in the city so he could check if I was still alive and did not kill myself after all the stress.

But he's right. We just graduated high school and I already passed a good college in the city and it would be so much better if he's around.

You might be thinking, SIXTEEN and already a high school graduate?! She must be smart. No.

You see our educational system is a bit different. We have six years allocated for grade school, four years for high school, and another four for College.

It's a norm here.

"That would be great, I guess." I said looking at my feet.

"Awesome!" he pulled me in for hug and my heart automatically raced for what seemed like a mad dash to a store with a 50% sale sign.

It was fast. And it was wrong.

I wanted to start a new life and in order to do so, I should forget all that has happened in the past sixteen years; my parents death, me suddenly being an orphan, and falling in love with Red.
