It was a sunny day at Saint Jules orphanage. It was a buzz with activity ever since the news that a new orphan was coming was heard. Two of the few who were not excited, besides the older kids, were the Emry twins. They never interacted with the other kids, and kept to themselves for the most part.

The eldest, by two minutes and never let his sister forget it, was Alec. He was lean and strong. He knew the weak and strong points of the body and exactly where to hit. His younger sister, Belladonna, was beautiful and looked innocent. She was graceful after years of ballet that the girls at Saint Jules were forced to endure. She knew what people wanted, needed, and where to get it.

All the kids gathered around the foyer, some like the twins staying on the stairs. The loud noises which were silenced by the Matron who walked in with her hand on a little girl shoulder. The girl was thin, she wore a baggy black sweater, with small holes and tears in it, and baggier, ripped jeans with black and white converses. She had black hair that faded into purple finished with black sunglasses and an old duffel bag.

"Guys, this is Calliope and she will be rooming with Belladonna." The atmosphere became deadly silent. Every orphan that ever roomed with her never came out unscathed. Boils, chickenpox, car accidents, you name it, it happened. After the first four years of physical and mentally messed up orphans they decide that no one would room with Belladonna, that was almost two years ago.

Belladonna stared at Calliope with her clear blue eyes. The small girl didn't back down. Belladonna couldn't read her emotions and that scared her. As a result, Belladonna was curious about Calliope. So to everyone's surprise, even her brother, she said OK. Deciding to take advantage of the girl's good mood the matron quickly dispersed everyone and took Calliope and Belladonna to the attic where Belladonna's and Alex's room was.

The attic was made up of two rooms left Alex's and the right Belladonna's. The reason why the twins were in the attic was a story for another time. When they entered Belladonna's room there was a mattress in the room that wasn't in there before. "Who was in my room?" Belladonna's voice was a whisper, but was enough to fill the small room. "She did." The matron and Belladonna looked at the small girl. "Did you Ms. Sweetener?" Ms. Sweetener's reyes darted in between the two young girls. She quickly left the room being freaked out by the two girls that were staring at her.

After filling away that thought, Belladonna laid down some ground rules. Rule one: don't touch my stuff, rule two: stay on your side of the room, and rule three: you can't look like that. The girl looks yourself up and down in question. Oh, and you need to get rid of the sunglasses.

Calliope immediately tensed making Belladonna curious. "You don't have to," Belladonna said softly. Belladonna had dealt with several abused children, she and her brother included. Calliope looked at the floor and room is filled with silence. Calliope slowly took off her sunglasses and looked at Belladonna who gasped in wonder.

Calliope's eyes were normal except the multi colored pupils. Belladonna mysteriously, smirked, making Calliope quirk her head at her causing her to look like a kitten.

"Oh. We are going to have so much fun."
