I wake up from the repeated pokes to my face and get greeted with a wide-awake Pogo. Before I can ask what is he doing in my room, I remember that he wanted to spend the night with me, so that explains that. But what doesn't make sense is why is he wide awake? Does he think that an intruder has broken into the cave? Pogo, now noticing that I'm now awake, points to his nose before taking a whiff of air and pointing at me, suggesting that he's picked up a scent of some kind.

I nod and take in a huge whiff of air, expecting the same scent of cooked meat from a few rooms away, but instead the scent is...different. This scent was more cleaner, and more pleasant to the nose, almost like a flower. So maybe someone has entered the cave. Pogo must've had the same curiosity as me, because he quickly got my hand and led me out to the hallway the moment he saw my expression change after picking up the scent.

Traversing the halls was not easy, due to it still being night and all the torches being snuffed out. Luckily, the scent was strong, so all we had to was follow it while making sure not to wake up any other cavemen that were sleeping in the main hall. Eventually, we made our way to the source of where the scent's coming from: The food storage room/kitchen.

We enter and our eyes are met with a few haunches of mammoth meat and some haystacks. Immediately I hear Pogo's stomach rumble and see his mouth drool as he reaches for one of the haunches on the stone shelf, but I pull his hand away and sign to him about the beating he got from the last time he tried to get a snack from here without permission. Pogo sighs as we look around for where the scent is coming from, but are unable to find anything, so we both agree to leave and go back to sleep.

Me and Pogo turn our heads back around. That sound wasn't our imagination, someone or something's in here, and I have a feeling where it's hiding. I begin making my way to one of the haystacks, but Pogo grabs my hand, preventing me from going any closer. I look at him as he shakes his head, trying to say it isn't worth it. I would've protested, but it's too late to argue, so I nod as we leave the room again, but the second we do...

*ARRUP!*

Pogo and I charge stop instantly before going back in there for the third time. Whatever game this person's playing, it's about to be stopped. Pogo takes a sniff of air before pointing at a random haystack, I take a whiff too, the smell of that familiar flowery smell fills my nostrils as we advance closer to the hiding place of our mystery person. As soon as we get close enough, Pogo gives a hard poke into the stack and-

*Squeal!*

A tall figure leaps out of the haystack, giving me and Pogo a startle as our backs collide against the wall and the unknown figure hides in another haystack. Pogo recovers from that scare quickly and attempts to pounce on the stack, only for it to move out of the way. After a few more attempts, I watch Pogo corner the haystack and prepare for another lunge, but I stop him and motion to the now-shaking stack, mostly from fear. An idea springs to my mind as a motion Pogo to stay where he is as I grab a nearby meat haunch and offer it to whoever's hiding in the stack.

A hand lunges out and drags the meat haunch out of sight. A few seconds pass as we hear another belch, this time more quieter, as the bone is thrown out of the stack, nearly hitting Pogo on the head. Turning back to the haystack, me and Pogo see the hay shuffle around before a figure steps out.
