Pregnancy made me stronger.

This time last year I couldn't even have my blood pressure taken without passing out.

The sight of blood terrified me and even thinking about having a blood test made me want to be sick.

When I found out i was pregnant, one major obstacle that I wasn't sure I'd be able to tackle, was the pure fact that pregnancy can turn people into pin cushions.

I'd be poked with needles at very regular intervals.

Little did I know that after having a straight forward pregnancy that labour would be terrible and after giving birth to Kion it would be even worse!

At one point I was having a blood test every few hours, I was on a drip, I had a catheter helping me go to the toilet (nice), I had my blood and everywhere.

Pregnancy made me stronger.

Not only did it turn me into a mother, it helped me turn a sharp corner with my anxiety and it helped me overcome a lot of fears a phobias of which I never knew I'd be able to hurdle over.

After three days of being in hospital after Kion had been born, I was absolutely determined to go home. They called me a medical mystery as they still don't fully understand what went on. But it basically was sudden liver and kidney failure.

After those long and painful three days I forced myself out of bed (oh did it hurt) and I tried to hard to feel better so they would send me to another ward and then from there I could be discharged.

I'm still recovering but I'm grateful every day to be healthy and spending such lovely and precious
days with my beautiful son. I'm blessed. I'm happy and I'm just well and truly blessed.
