This was the first time you were on a game show. You had never been on any source of media, let alone a game show that was aired of live TV. You weren't entirely sure what you would be winning, as they were very keen on not showing you the exact prizes, but instead of being a sensible person and being wary of this offer, you didn't look back and accepted the offer! You weren't expecting to get a response immediately, but you did! By the host himself, he immediately said he'd love to have you on his show, which unknown to you, he doesn't say that very often. He gave you the information on where the studio was, where the show is taking place, what time the show would start, and everything similar to that.

Well, here you are! On the show, with three other contestants, you bet they know their stuff but so did you, that's why you weren't as anxious as you thought you would be. That's when he walked through the door and fell down the stairs... He jumped back up as if he never fell down in the first place! Your worried smile went to a grin, as he bounced up. Out of all the possibilities how he would introduce himself, you didn't think falling down the stairs was one.
As his per usual performance he went to look at the 4 different contestants, but then his eyes landed on you. His face went as red as a tomato and couldn't stop staring at you, your pretty [e/c] eyes, your [h/c] hair, and your seeming-innocent grin. Wait... What the heck was he thinking? You were just a contestant in his show. He just thought you were pretty. That's all, he won't let his feelings get in the way of his show. Even if you make it so much more difficult.
As he was at war with his thoughts, his oldest nephew snapped him out of his trance, "Yo, Uncle Bossman? Are we gonna start the show, or are you gonna keep staring at h-"
"Yeah...! I was just about to do that! Obviously..." He sharply stated as if he wasn't ogling at you a few seconds ago.

You looked at him, a bit confused, since you weren't paying any attention and didn't catch him staring but you didn't have another time to give it another thought because he went to your buzzer stand(???). He leaned against it with his right arm and winked at you, while sweating a bit but he hoped you wouldn't notice. Good news for him, you didn't notice.
He fumbled with his orange bowtie as he winked again which you definitely noticed this time and looked at him, your eyes sparkling waiting for him to say something, to say anything, "Hey! welcome to Shovelware's Brain Game! Hosted by yours truly.."
You laughed softly and looked at him expectantly, as that flustered him even more, your laugh was so soft, but loud enough that he could actually hear it.
If he could he would just end the show that it would be just you and him, so you two could.. 'Show? Wait! The show! I'm supposed to be running the game show!' He worriedly thought, he put his romantic thoughts of you aside and tried to put his main focus into the show he was currently hosting. He just met her and yet he completely is lovestruck, be didn't believe love at first sight, thought it was cheesy, but here he is. Okay, focus on the show..
Luckily it hasn't been more than a fee seconds compared to the whole fiasco of him staring at her, but maybe... He can do the show and focus on you later, he'll try to at least.

Instead of going right to left, as that's the order of the contestant's turns, he currently is at your buzzer, and asked you which category you wanted to pick out of the three topics: Probably Geography, Math Zone, or Nonsense Non Sequiturs. You didn't feel like doing math nor science, so you went with Nonsense Non Sequiturs.
The Announcer spoke out, "Which is better, Melee or Ultimate?"
The three other contestants wrote down their answers, patiently waiting for yours. You knew you would have to answer eventually, so you answered with "Brawl??", which sounded more as a question rather than an answer.
You heard a buzzer, which you assumed was because of the incorrect answer, because the announcer just said, "Nope."
The host quickly chimed in, "Correct! Are you smart or something, or what?" Nudging you playfully and laughed.
"Uh... As much as I trust your judgement and everything, that's not the correct answ-" The announcer replied, worried that this might cost him his whole job.
"Shut. It." The Banana replied, through gritted teeth, trying his best to keep your cheerful glowing, expression on your face, which he succeeded.
"What about the scrip-" The Announcer asked but soon got cut off by your host once again; "Last time I checked I am the host. So, Zip. it." He answered very harshly; but to his dismay, a now worried expression fell on your face. He turned to you, with a wink, "Don't worry about him, even announcers get things wrong sometimes!", As he rolled his eyes lightheartedly.

You grinned but you now realized that the contestants were a bit annoyed how you got a pass on a question they knew you got wrong, you reassured them that it was just a fluke and wouldn't happen again, at least you thought so.

The rest of the round went pretty well for you, you got most of the answers right, well not most, it was mainly due to the fact that the Banana host, was biased towards you, and trying to impress you as best as he can. You won the round and you smiled at him before you went to leave.

You would really have to thank him later.

authors note:

not entirely sure if I should continue the story, I know it's only the first chapter and everything and less of a slow burn and more of a forest fire, but I might continue if anyone wants me to continue it! Thanks for reading and have a great day/night! :D
