My name is Isaac Auerbach. I am 11 years old. I was born on the 16th of July in 1930 in Denmark, but when I was a toddler at the age of 3, we packed up and moved to Poland. My family and I live in Poland now. I am very into poetry and I guess you could say it is an escape; a stress release. I have two sisters; Rika and Sara. My family and I are Orthodox Jews. Everyday at breakfast we read the Torah and listen to the radio. When I was five, poverty struck the entire country of Poland and we were forced to eat on a very tight budget. When we went to the store, we had to use food stamps instead of money. Everyday I prayed that I would be able to eat three square meals a day. My parents had decided to try to have another child. While my mother was pregnant she had a miscarriage. My entire family was devistated by the loss of the baby. My dad had seen what the Great Depression had done to our family. My father was worried of what might happen next. Little did we know what might become of this next. The next day when we read the daily newspaper and sat down for breakfast, my parents began to fret. My mother and father were yelling very loud and trying to debate something they did not want us to know about. It was all of our worst nightmare happening right before our eyes.
