Chapter One | Welcome to Essex

One solo 2 and a half day car trip from Seattle, Washington to Essex Collage in Vermont, and Sade was finally on the Essex Campus.
Why drive for 46 hours and only stop to eat and sleep just for college when she could have flown and had her stuff shipped, well simply she couldn't afford it, it worked out so much cheaper to drive down with all her stuff. Sade Thorpe may have millionaire parents but she was not a millionaire, ever since she told her parents she wanted to be an author instead of a trauma surgeon her parents cut her off, which wasn't to bad since she had been working in a coffee shop since she was 15 and had a small amount of money of her own.
Her parents had hoped that the need of money for college would force there stubborn daughter in to a Seattle pre-med program instead they found out that she had already been supplied a writing assistant scholarship, which is a special scholarship Essex gives to one student every 4 years, the students education is completely covered but they are required to help the professors in the literature and language department and help out at the book shop on the edge of campus.

Stepping out of her car and grabbing one of her boxes from the back seat, Sade made her way to her new dorm room, suite 103. The suite was empty, complete void of the 4 other girls that would be staying there and so Sade took first dibs on room choice, she dropped her box on the bed in the only single room in the suite and headed back to her car, one of the seniors that was helping to show people around brought over a trolly for her so she could take all her boxes at the same time. Once Sade had transferred all her stuff into her room she abandoned the trolly in the hallway and started to unpack her clothes.
Just as Sade put her last pair of jeans away she heard people talking, stepping out of her room she saw an Indian girl and who she assumed where her parents. "hi" Sade said feeling slightly awkward as the family hadn't realised she was there. "I'm Sade"
