The next morning, Valentine groaned as she leaned up in bed. It had been a peaceful night, and she smiled when she saw Crona tucked in at her side still soundly sleeping. 'I guess Robo's first shift went just fine.' Valentine mused to herself. She hoped the Robot hadn't gotten bored, or done anything too extreme in a reaction to the most mundane of things. She looked over at her mechanical daughter, who was sleeping soundly, and smiled, then turned that smile over to Fukua. 'My two good girls...' She thought to herself. Though most of her affection was going to Crona, her love for her daughters could not be understated...
Still, Crona. She picked him up and held him on her lap, letting him lean against her as he continued sleeping. He seemed happy and content, and that was what she was just fine with. She wanted Crona to be happy, she wanted his life to not be... what it was. And she was happy she was able to help in some regard to that. She cuddled him close and rocked him in her arms. She hoped he had a good time with his elder sister the night prior, sitting around in that office must have gotten terribly boring for the both of them after a point.
Still, it had been quiet on her end, so Valentine had no reason to believe things went wrong, or bad or anything like that. Now, she had to accept what was going to happen today. Fukua would be taking Crona with her to classes, and she didn't know how to react to that. Crona had said he wanted to try all three options before deciding which one he was most comfortable with, and now that he had been with her and Robo, Valentine knew she couldn't really say no to Fukua. But there would be a lot of people around, and she was deeply concerned that Crona might get overwhelmed. Still, she did trust that her daughter would take care of him. She had definitely learned her lesson after their trip to town and would definitely be more vigilant. And, well, if worse came to worse, Crona would spend more time with her or Robo. Yes, Fukua would be somewhat bitter over that, but she'd understand Crona's apprehension towards large groups. For now, Valentine sighed, and hugged Crona close to her chest, patting his back happily.
The little boy wiggled slightly in her grip to make himself more comfortable, and she smiled mirthfully at him. He really was the most precious child she ever laid eye on. And she definitely wasn't just saying that because she was biased. Crona cooed softly in her arms, clearly in heaven (to him). The Nurse felt happy, she felt like all her training and schooling was leading to her finding this little bundle of adorableness, and being able to care for him. If that was the case, then all the tests, studying, all-nighters and everything else was worth it. "Sleep tight, cutie." She cooed.
She decided to lay back in her bed and hold her youngest close just a bit longer. Not like she had to go to work just yet, she had about two hours before she had to be on that. She wasn't sleepy, but holding her son was all the entertainment she needed. He snuggled closer, letting out tiny snores as she slept in her arms. He really did look like a porcelain doll like this, so small and fragile... if the situation that lead to him being like this wasn't so horrific, it would honestly be even more adorable. But Valentine wasn't about to try and justify the abuse of a small boy by comparing it to his overall cuteness. But again, she hated thinking these thoughts, his 'hold me, protect me, love me' aura was something she really did love about him. It was honestly what made her realize that she was mother material. Before Crona, she never even thought of Fukua and Robo Fortune as her children. The thought just never crossed her mind. But then came little Crona, and everything just clicked.
Now, she saw them as her family. Fukua and Robo clearly thought Crona was their family, and the love they had for him was honestly adorable. While their fighting was a little irritating at times, seeing them fight over Crona was oddly entertaining, as it was clear they both cared for him, and they wanted to take care of him. Ultimately, though, it was her job to take care of all three of them. To help them grow, learn, mature... She was their mother. And she had so much she needed to teach her kids to help them become responsible members of society. Well, as responsible as a clone with living hair, a robotic death machine, and a blood-less boy with a living weapon inside his body could be. Honestly, she couldn't even Say Crona had the chance being the most 'normal', but Ragnarok made that not exactly true. Still, Fukua and Shamone were pretty 'normal' all things considered.
