mazuki was dreading going to this interview, as the interviewers were known for being wildly sexist and flat out rude. the stylists gave the 6 their outfits and they headed out to the interview room where the two hosts were.
"one, dream! hi, we are tomorrow x together!" soobin introduced the group and talked about their most recent comeback before the hosts started asking actual questions.
"ah yes, tomorrow x together! we have soobin the leader, yeonjun the oldest, beomgyu the mood maker, taehyun the vocal king, huening kai and the cutie and mazuki the.. girl." the interviewer said, the members and mazuki just laughing it off.
the hosts mainly asked the boys questions about their past, what it's like being an idol, their favorite songs, etc.
"mazuki. people say you bring the group down by being the only girl, what do you think about this?" the interviewer asked.
mazuki hesitated at first, smiling it off but clearly uncomfortable. "umm... people are always going to have negative things to say, so i try to ignore it. i always am trying my hardest though so it's kinda sad to be told i bring down the group."
soobin quickly added onto mazukis answer, defending her. "mazuki brings a lot to the group, on and off camera. she's very talented and positive and that is just what she needs." soobin said.
"yeah, not one member brings the group down! we all contribute to our success " beomgyu said, cheerfully, trying to get rid of the awkward tension.
mazuki was clearly uncomfortable, fidgeting with her fingers as the members talked. one of the hosts kept looking at mazuki weird, yeonjun noticing. he scooted his chair in front of mazuki to cover her up since there wasn't any blanket or jackets.
the dreadful interview finally ended, mazuki automatically getting up and leaving. she went into the dressing room and opened her phone, just to see a bunch of hate towards her.
"mazuki is so ugly!" , "i bet she got with all the members and staff and that's how she's in the group." , "she needs to leave tomorrow x together!" , "i wish the members of jewelry box didn't die so she could've debuted there instead."
mazuki sighed and held back tears. usually hate didn't effect her much, but all this hate was so random, she couldn't help to think that she did something wrong. did she mess up on stage? did she say or do something wrong? does she genuinely bring the group down?
those comments replayed in her head over and over again the rest of the night. she was silent the whole car ride, only saying thank you to the driver when they got out the car.
the members and were all bothered by mazukis silence, assuming the interview upset her, rightfully so.
mazuki went straight to her room and laid down in her bed. the members gave her alone time, knowing that if they bothered her as soon as they got home she would be pissed. mazuki opened up her phone and only saw more hate, causing her to break down.
the members heard her crying in her room, automatically running to comfort her.
"maz?" yeonjun asked, softly. mazuki tried to wipe her tears before the boys noticed, but it was too late.
"mazuki, talk to us." soobin said, sitting next to her.
mazuki sat in silence, sniffing and trying to hold back from breaking down.
the members looked at eachother, not knowing what to do. soobin signaled for beomgyu to say something since mazuki trusts beomgyu the most.
"mazuki. please, talk to us. we're here for you and we care about you." beomgyu said.
mazuki automatically started to break down again, concerning the members even more. she couldn't talk, so she unlocked her phone and showed the boys all the hate she saw.
the boys stared at the comments, not knowing what to say. they couldn't blame mazuki, the comments that they saw were ruthless. death threats, comments on her looks, people telling her to leave the group.
"mazuki, i'm so sorry." huening kai said, hugging her.
"it's all true." mazuki said. "i should've never debuted with you guys, anyway. i bring the group down. i wish it would've been me that didn't survive the fire instead of the others." mazuki cried.
"mazuki, do not say that ever again." soobin said, firmly. "you don't, and never will bring this group down! you debuted with us for a reason!"
"and the interviewers, fuck them. that was the most unnecessary and untrue comment ever." beomgyu said. "i hate those guys."
"maz, i know those comments hurt, but they're just people through a screen who are miserable so they take it out on you." soobin said. "i promise you, none of it is true."
mazuki cried into huening kai's shoulder as the members comforted her. her crying eventually started to stop and her breathing was normal again.
"i'm sorry. i'm trying my hardest, i really am. haven't i given enough already? why do people hate me so much?" mazuki said.
"you're giving your everything and more, maz. we're so proud of you and we always will be. you contribute so much to the team and that's why we debuted. none of us would want it any other way." taehyun said.
"maz, i know we don't say it a lot, but we love you. thank you for being a part of the group."
