As me and max approached the bakery, already I can sense something in the air, something foul yet
sweet.
“man I don’t remember this place giving me the creeps.” Max said as he got out one of his tools, a spirit
box—a tool which spirits can use to communicate with people, kind of like a voice box for the undead.
We walked into the bakery together, pulling the cation tape aside and opening the door, a wave of wind
hits me and my nose is full of the dusty air and smell of mold from the rotting baked goods in the glass
displays. Its sad no one ever got to eat those cupcakes, you’d think they would at least throw out the
food so it didn’t just rot away here?
“man it sitnks in here! I think its gonna make me sick.” Max said as he was setting up the spirit box onto
one of the dusty tables
“you can say that again.”
“man it stinks in h-“
“max, I didn’t mean it.”
“oh..” he said, sometimes hes a little dumb, but its ok it gives him character, it makes him unique in his
own way. He turned on the speaker box, now we play the waiting game, at first nothing happened, we
thought the towns people were just spreading propaganda to start drama but then we heard a soft
incoherent voice come through. It was hard to make out what it said, but eventually we came up with
the solution that it was trying to warm us about something, but didn’t say what
“you need to leave, before she finds you.” Those were its last words before we never heard from it
again, whos she?? Could it be Ms. Oxford??? Or could it be a demon?? The possibilities are endless.
“this is a lot of bull! I was pumped to see something that’s actually interesting.” Max said disappointed.
“your not curious to know who that voice was talking about?” I questioned “ for all we know the voice
could know something we don’t.
“well..” max paused for a moment, thinking. “ when you put it that way, I guess your right“who is ‘she’? why do we need to worry about her?” I asked the spirit box, and for a while I got a whole
lot of nothing as answer, but then it replied to me
“she will come for you” it said “she will-“ it got cut off
“shit!” max said “ I must have forgotten to charge it last night.” Well, there goes the opportunity to find
out who the voice was talking about, I suppose we can just look around for stuff left behind from the
incident, I never got a good look at the place anyway.
Im gonna go snoop around, you stay here.” I ordered max as I took a flashlight and started looking
around. I opened the door to the kitchen, the smell of decaying food filled my nostrils and it made me
sick to the stomach, there were still dirty dishes in the sink—they now has cobwebs and mold growing
onto them. There was also still bags of flour out and raw dough left on the counter, they really didn’t
bother cleaning up the place before we came to investigate didn’t they? As I was looking around some
more, I spotted something, no—I spotted *someone* and they were starring at me from afar, I couldn’t
make out who it was, I thought it was max trying to scare me at first but then I realized it wasn’t him,
there was something different about the figure, the aura it gave of was…sweet, it almost smelled like
birthday cake. Could it be…no it couldn’t be, shes dead right? Only one way to find out…
