As they left the Dead Forest, Syanel and Yuna walked towards The Forest of the Abyss. The Graye Mage had told them that the cure for the poison was in the depths of this forest. The trees here were tall and dense, making it hard to see the sky above. The sun's rays barely penetrated the thick canopy, leaving the forest in perpetual darkness.
"This forest is so eerie," Yuna whispered, looking around cautiously. "I feel like something is watching us."
"Be alert, Yuna," Syanel said. "This forest is home to many dangerous creatures."
They walked for hours, fending off lower-ranked monsters and demons along the way. They fought off a pack of bloodthirsty wolves, giant spiders with poisonous bites, and massive ogres with impenetrable skin. Syanel's strength and Yuna's agility proved to be a formidable combination.
The first day in the Forest of the Abyss was a challenge for Syanel and Yuna. They had to move forward without any clear direction, relying only on their instincts and the few details they had about the forest. As they moved deeper into the forest, the trees became denser; making it harder to see what was in front of them. The dense foliage also made it harder for sunlight to penetrate, casting the forest in perpetual shade.
Their progress was slow, and they had to be careful not to trip on the gnarled roots that snaked along the forest floor. The forest was eerily silent, save for the rustling of leaves and occasional hooting of owls. It was as though the forest was holding its breath, waiting for something.
As night fell, they found a small clearing to make camp. They gathered twigs and branches and started a small fire to keep the cold at bay. Syanel set up traps around the camp to ward off any creatures that might have been lurking in the shadows. They took turns keeping watch throughout the night, and thankfully, no monsters attacked them.
The second day was no easier than the first. The forest seemed to go on forever, and they still had no clear direction. They continued to push forward, hacking their way through the thick underbrush. As they moved deeper into the forest, the creatures they encountered grew more dangerous. They had to fend off giant spiders and centipedes that scurried towards them with deadly intent.
The dense foliage made it hard to see anything, and they had to rely on their instincts to avoid any dangerous areas. Syanel used his survival skills to forage for food, while Yuna collected herbs that could be used for medicinal purposes. They spent the night in a cave that Syanel found. The cave provided some protection from the elements and any creatures that might have been lurking in the dark.
The third to the fifth day was a blur of constant movement and danger. They had to fight off giant boars, goblins, and even a group of orcs. They had to rely on their wits and skills to survive. They used traps and their weapons to fend off any creatures that came their way.
They found a stream on the fourth day and used it to refill their water supply. They also used the stream to clean themselves and their clothes. It was refreshing to be able to wash off the grime and sweat of the last few days.
On the sixth day, they finally stumbled upon Hoho. He was a massive demonic bird, easily towering over them. His skin was as black as coal and his eyes glowed red in the dim light of the forest. They could feel his fiery powers emanating from him, and they knew they were in for a tough fight.
They attacked him with everything they had, but it was like hitting a brick wall. Hoho was too strong for them to defeat. They managed to land a few blows, but they only served to anger him further. In the end, they had to retreat, wounded and exhausted.
There was nothing to fear, they knew the whereabouts, now all they needed was a plan, they came up with the plan to first, distract Hoho using Yuna's Agility and taking it down with Saynel's brute strength. The time finally came at the seventh day, they both had recovered and were at peak condition to kill the Bird and take the thing they need.
After traveling from their camp to the nest of the Bird, where they found their opponent who is also ready and is in his own peak condition.
Yuna and Syanel stood side by side, their eyes fixed on the massive bird demon, Hoho. It towered over them, its wingspan wider than any bird they had ever seen. The demon's eyes were fixed on them, its sharp talons digging into the ground as it prepared to attack.
Without a word, Yuna and Syanel sprang into action, charging towards Hoho with their weapons at the ready. Yuna's water and wind magic combined to create a sharp blast of water that sliced through the air towards Hoho, while Syanel's holy and lightning magic created a bright flash that momentarily blinded the demon.
Hoho's ultra-fast regeneration was immediately evident. The wounds they inflicted on it healed almost instantly, leaving no visible marks. The demon retaliated with a flurry of talon strikes and beak pecks, forcing the pair to dodge and weave to avoid getting hit.
Yuna summoned a strong gust of wind to push Hoho off balance, while Syanel struck it with a bolt of lightning that temporarily stunned it. Taking advantage of the momentary distraction, Yuna created a large ball of water that she hurled at Hoho with all her strength. The water exploded on impact, drenching the demon and momentarily blinding it.
As the water cleared, Yuna and Syanel noticed that the wounds they had inflicted on Hoho were taking longer to heal. They decided to focus their attacks on the demon's wings, hoping to take away its ability to fly.
Yuna used her wind magic to create a vortex around Hoho's wings, while Syanel unleashed a barrage of lightning strikes that crackled against the demon's feathers. Despite Hoho's regeneration, the wounds on its wings started to accumulate, and the demon began to struggle to stay in the air.
With a loud squawk, Hoho plummeted towards the ground, its wings barely able to keep it aloft. Yuna and Syanel seized the opportunity, attacking Hoho with all their might. Yuna's water magic formed a razor-sharp blade that she used to slice through the demon's flesh; while Syanel's holy magic created a blinding light that temporarily stunned it.
As Hoho hit the ground, it let out a deafening screech, its body writhing in pain. Yuna and Syanel continued to attack, their weapons flashing in the dim light of the forest. Hoho's ultra-fast regeneration was still at work, but the constant barrage of attacks was starting to take its toll.
Finally, with a final burst of magic, Yuna and Syanel landed the finishing blow, striking Hoho simultaneously with a powerful blast of water and lightning. The demon let out one final screech before its body disintegrated into dust, leaving only a few feathers behind.
Just when they thought everything was over and were celebrating, Hoho regenerated piece by piece, from his skeletal structure to his newly formed feathers, it was now again at its peak condition once again.
Seeing its enemies Hoho began to charge up his flame breathe with dark magic infused. Hoho was using a magic attack which was of Rank 6th tier. The ranking system of Humans and Devils do differ.
Yuna and Syanel understood the situation, but there was nothing they could do, they together waited for death.
Will they die? Will they awaken a new power to kill the monstrous bird?
