So small

Kavaxas looked down at the tiny bundle in Nevaeh's arms, his expression unreadable. His betrothed mate had just given birth to their daughter, Flare, and she has just came back to show their daughter to him. But Kavaxas couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. He had always imagined his offspring to be strong and powerful, and Flare seemed so small and fragile.

"Shes so small" Kavaxas whispered Nevaeh noticed her mate's judgmental behavior and became worried. "Kavaxas, she's your daughter," she reminded him gently. "She may be small now, but she will grow quickly. She has your blood in her veins, she will be strong."

Kavaxas snorted, his cold eyes narrowing. "She may have my blood, but that doesn't guarantee anything. We'll see how she develops."

Nevaeh shook her head, a sad look on her face. She had hoped that Kavaxas would be more excited about their child or at least a bit grateful, but it seemed that his heart was as cold as ever. Despite this, the two decided on a name for their daughter: Flare, after the fiery spirit she possessed.

sooooooo remember how i said nevaeh is going to be in the runaway au well here is a new art that includes her, so as you might tell from the short little story scene from above in the au nevaeh and kavaxas are betrothed and this is basically a scene were kavaxas is meeting his daughter flare. so a little background about nevaeh and her role in this au is that she came from a very high rank family and kavaxas's parents thought she would make a good queen for kavaxas so the two were betrothed now the two have know each other since they were teen and had a bit of respect for each other but after hearing about the betrothal the to didnt like the idea. after being married at the right age and time the two realized how different they really were from one another and how they both changed over the years. The two dont really so any love to one another its more like im doing this for my people type of thing. Although as time went by kavaxas starts to think of the idea of having an heir, despite disliking children and his cold heart and temper. he soon started to persuade nevaeh about the idea and nevaeh being the stubborn gal she is felt a bit rushed as kavaxas brings up the idea. Kavaxas gave her a couple days before he brought it up again this time he was far more persuasive nevaeh felt a bit flustered by his now flirty attitude, she did love the idea of becoming a mother but she was always warry of kavaxas cus she knew he didnt like children and he was basically only trying to get an heir out of her and maybe use her. But she knew this would be good for the people and for the future and she made it her mission to teach that child to be better then their father. So she soon agreed. The two soon started to try and have a baby after a couple tries nevaeh soon was expecting, but over time she noticed how much kavaxas changed a bit. He started to glance at her every now and then almost in admiration and he would always help her with things she needed or when ever she was to tired to walk he would carry her around. Although he would always say something like dont tell anyone im being kind or dont enjoy this it wont last long. She started to believe kavaxas was sort of excited for their child to be born. although as the time soon came nevaeh had to leave (i have this idea that most female demodragons leave their people and mate to have their child kind of like what lionesses do)
But when she came back with a small little girl kavaxas soon changed back to his cold self a bit disappointed he wished for a strong powerful looking boy. of course nevaeh becomes warry of this and is scared that kavaxas wouldnt want their daughter and wished for it to be destroyed and the two would have to try again for the perfect heir. Although flare suddenly showed a bit of moxie once she hissed at Kavaxas wings flared up trying to show or make herself bigger. Kavaxas and nevaeh are taking back at this but Kavaxas soon realized maybe this wasnt a bad thing.
