"Hold on."Evie was scared. Her dad had been drinking a lot more heavily the last few months, and he had been taking out his anger on her.
Her brother was away visiting his girlfriend in Virginia for a bit, as they wanted to take a vacation, so she was all alone.
She completely missed her and Robin's walks for 2 days, due to the constant stress her father has been causing her.

Evie made her way to the park where her and Robin met every night and sat on a bench reading a book waiting for the taller girl. She was flipping through the pages carefully, trying not to rip the pages as she turned, which was a habit she accidentally made.
"Evie?" She heard a voice ask after a moment. She looked up, eyes widening and smiling lightly, running up to Robin. "Evie! I was so worried! Don't do that to me you little shit." Robin said.
Evie just laughed and hugged Robin.
Robin was in shock. Evie was hugging her. She was fucking hugging her. Robin was smiling like a maniac and hugged the girl; placing her head on top of Evie's.
"What happened?! I missed you..." Robin trailed off, letting go of the hug. "I guess I should tell you... My stepdad, Nate, has been abusing me and my brother for years. My brother is away with his girlfriend in Virginia as of right now, so he has been taking everything out on-"
Before Evie could even finish, Robin pulled her in for another tight hug. Grabbing her head with her arm; almost like she was shielding Evie from the world. She felt soft tears trickle down her jacket, but she didn't care. She wanted Evie to be safe. "Do you want to stay over at my place for a bit? Until he gets better?" Robin offered, still not letting go of the girl, rocking back and forth, comforting her friend.
Robin felt a small nod from Evie and just kept hugging her. Evie pulled away from Robin's grasp and saw the tear stains on her shirt. "Shit... Sorry Robs." Evie swore, pointing to her shirt. "Meh it's fine. I don't even like this shirt anyway." Robin shrugged.
They made the decision to go to Evie's house and get her stuff, just so she could have it at Robins.
They arrived at Robins house. It was nice. Quaint and a bit small, but it was just perfect for Robin and her parents and it definitely made sense when you thought about their personalities. They walked into Robin's room and Evie looked around in awe.
The room perfectly matched Robin and was just perfect. "Where am I going to sleep?" Evie asked after a moment. "I would suggest the pullout bed, but it's super uncomfortable so I could suggest my bed..." Robin trailed off, a small tint of pink appearing on her cheeks.
"That's fine with me Robs. Thank you." Evie said, standing on her tip toes and kissing Robin on the cheek.
holy shit.
