As rain poured heavily outside Freddie's house, him and Elton were sat in front of his large television, watching a movie. The Queen frontman had seen it many times and was not much affected by the ending, but Elton had never seen it before and was sat sniffling, trying unsuccessfully to hold back tears.

"Elton darling, are you crying?"

"No!"

"I understand." Freddie chuckled. "I cried buckets when I first watched it."

"Okay, maybe a little then." Elton sighed. "You really got me with that one, Fred."

"I know I did." Freddie smirked. "You've not stopped for the last fifteen minutes!"

"It was a sad movie!"

Freddie put an arm around him. "I so enjoyed watching it with you."

"Me too." Elton smiled, flicking away a stray tear. "I don't think I want to leave."

Freddie held him closer. "Stay a while!"

"Alright then, I will."

So the two of them let the film credits play as they decided what to do with their time next. It ended up being a nice cup of tea and a chat with some biscuits to nibble at.

"Some days, I prefer this to wine." Elton said. "Maybe I'm on an alcohol burnout?"

"Maybe." Freddie said. "But I like to think that's a good thing. When all the big brained philosophers say you can never have too much of a good thing, they seem to forget alcohol exists."

"And crack." Elton said, serious as anything. Even with this tone, Freddie still laughed hysterically at him.

The two of them were on a roll now. "And shopping!"

As they sipped their tea and ate their biscuits, the duo ping ponged between subjects. Everything from fame, Elton's latest diva moment and Freddie's cats to Elton's latest shopping find and family. Though, Elton seemed to stiffen slightly at that last one. Freddie knew he'd not exactly got the ritz when it came to that department.

"So every time my parents would start biting each other's heads off, I'd be at that piano." Elton said. "It's funny, what was once a punishment became an escape. Then, what was an escape became a career."

"It's funny to think about." Freddie mused, running his finger along the rim of his cup. "I'd always wanted fame. It's like Aphrodite blessed me with a great voice and good looks."

"Though, those women will never get what they want, no matter how hard they try."

"I suppose not." Freddie laughed. "They can have Roger. The men on the other hand..."

"I feel you babe." Elton teased. "But at least you have a man. I'm single as a Pringle."

"Someone will come along." Freddie said shakily, almost like he was reassuring himself as well. "I'm sure of it."

His friend noticed the change in his demeanour and sat hesitantly for a moment. "Yes, I'm sure of it too."

Then, the phone rang. Freddie rushed to answer it, knowing who it was.
