ll Survive

"Where are we?" Leo asks. "I don't know, but wherever we are there better be a gas station." "What's that over there?" Leo and Zane look over in the direction Leo was pointing to.

"A FUCKING GAS STATION HELL YES!!!" "ZANE WAIT UP!!!" Leo and Zane ran to the gas station (because Zane was in a hurry I guess-) "*Huff* Did you*huff* really have to run?" "YES?! What kind of question is that!? We can buy SO MUCH FUCKING FOOD!!!"

"Let's just get inside." They both walk inside and go to find the stuff they need for their 'trip'. "Some of these chips and water bottles, and that should be it." "NO! I need uh... One of these, cherry lemon flavor please." "Alright, ID please?" Leo looked at Zane with the mom look. 'WHAT?' Zane mouthed to Leo.

They leave the store and go back on their way. "Did you REALLY need a fucking vape for running away?!" "HEY! I need a vape because it's like my inhaler!" "Sure." They both keep walking until they find an abandoned house (of some sort.)

"So... Can we live in it?" Leo asks, "I don't know, but I do know that if we do live in that place we will be known as 'Squatters.' And I really don't wanna be called that for the rest of my life." Zane replies. "So that's a no-buy the way." Zane answered "but we need some place to live! I'm not just gonna sit in some trees and sleep there until tomorrow morning!" Leo yelled, then Zane had a great idea. 

"Oh no! I know that look in your eye Zane! Do not think I'm sleeping in a fucking tree! So you can try to convince me to sleep in the woods, but good luck!" Next thing Leo gets bridal styled by Zane. "PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW OR I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL THROW YOUR VAPE IN A RIVER!!!" Zane didn't listen though, so they just kept walking to find a forest to sleep in. 

'Damn arms, going numb.' Zane thought. Zane wanted to put Leo down but he knew that Leo might run away or try to get into an argument. "Zane, how come you haven't taken off your robber mask yet? It's almost night time and no one can see us." Leo yawned. " I... Just wanna make sure no one can see us, even if they have a flashlight." 

"Perfect. A forest. Now I can let you down." Zane puts Leo down, but then Leo reaches Zane's mask. "Hey-HEY!? What are you doing!?" "Take it off." "No! People can see us!" "Take it off." "No!" "Take. It. Off." "N.O. No!" "Take it off, or I will." "No Leo. People could be watching us as we speak! I need to wear it so that nobody notices that I exist!" "What about me?! Where's my mask?" "Um..." "Exactly, now take it off or I will force you to take it off." "*Chuckle* how will you force me to take it off?" Next thing Zane knew was that he was pinned to the ground with Leo holding Zane's hands above Zane's head.

"Let go of me!!" "Not until you take the mask off!" " I really can't with you holding my arms above my head!!" "If I let you go, I know you'll probably try to run away. So that's a no." "Then how the fuck am I supposed to take off the mask!?" Leo didn't answer, he just stared into Zane's eyes. Zane then knee kicked Leo's no-no square. "Mother fucker..." Leo groaned. When Leo stood up, Zane was gone. 

"Zane!.. ZANE!!!" Leo yelled so loud his head started pounding. Where could Zane be?  Leo thought. "Zane please this isn't funny anymore!!" Leo's eyes started watering. "Zane... Please I can't survive without you..." Leo said barely over a whisper. Leo couldn't hold in the tears anymore, he balled his eyes out until he couldn't breathe. Then Leo heard a sound. "...Zane? Is that you?" When Leo looked up he found a pack of wolves right in front of him.

Then Leo heard another sound. "Hey...Want some food?.. *nervous chuckle*" Then Leo saw a shadow behind the wolf pack. "GET AWAY FROM HIM MOTHERFUCKERS!!" Zane started swinging at the wolves and making them fly into the trees. But Zane didn't realize that the Alpha wolf was behind him and attacked Zane. "ZANE!!" Leo yelled. Leo grabbed a baseball bat and whacked the Alpha, but that didn't do much damage. 

Before the Alpha could attack, Zane grabbed a knife and started stabbing the shit out of the wolf. None of the wolves survived. "Zane! You're hurt. Here, sit down and-" "I'm fine Leo. Let's just keep going." "No, you're hurt. I'm gonna help you. Let me help you." "I said I was fine." Zane hissed in pain as he got pushed to the ground, his back to the tree.

"I said I was fine Leo." Zane tried to stand up but got sat back down. "If you try to run away again I will tie you to this tree over night". Leo taunted. Leo lifted Zane's shirt but got stopped. "Woah! What do you think you're doing?" "I'm helping you." "You're lifting my shirt up." "The wound is on your stomach! I need to lift the shirt up!" Zane put his hand back and let Leo do what he needed to do. 

"It's gonna sting for a quick sec, okay?" "Mhm." Leo poured some antibacterial medicine on the wound, and Zane hissed in pain. "That wolf got you pretty good." " I saved your life." "I know you did, and thank you. But why did you run away?" "Because I knew that you were probably gonna chase me, but you didn't." There was a long pause before anybody said anything. "I'm gonna have to stitch this up." "Whatever just get it done." 

Timeskip to a few minutes later~

"All done." "Finally" Zane sat up on the tree and when he least expected it, Leo finally caught his mask and took it off. "LEO!? WHAT THE HELL!?" Leo's happy expresion turned into a worried look when looking at Zane's face. Zane's face was bruised and cut and bloody, but from what? "Give the mask back Leo!" Zane reached for the mask but his hand got grabbed by Leo. "Who did this to you? Or did you do this yourself?.." Leo was now staring into Zane's brown eyes. Leo could see the anger and sadness in his beautiful eyes.

"Look, I didn't do this. And yes I may have lied about somethings but for you not to worry. Cause I know you Leo. I know you're sensitive and care about me more than yourself. And this is why I wanted to run away. My uncle did this. All the cuts? Wine bottles. The bruises? Getting punched. The bloodiness? Him cutting me with a knife. This is why I wanted to run away. I wanted to be with you, Leo. Just the two of us. Best friends. And I heard you crying your eyes out. I felt so bad about running away I just... Needed some time alone... And I'm sorry about kicking you in the bad area."

Leo was speechless. Leo was frozen. He couldn't move. He couldn't take it all into his mind. "I don't know what to say... I'm sorry... But I know you will say 'it's not your fault, Leo' but I didn't know it was this bad..." Leo let go of Zane's hand and dropped the mask. "Zane, if we are gonna live out here just the two of us. Then no more lying, got it?" "Yea." They both sat in silence, looking up at the stars. Hearing the animals making noises. 

"Hey Zane? Can I be honest with you for a second?" "Sure." "Do you have a crush on anyone?"
