Nightmare (Rain x Aether)

Rain woke up with slight tears in his eyes. He turned on his lamp and sat up. Trying to process everything about that dream. So many things happened in his dream. He couldn't put a name on it but they were quite disturbing things. He knew that he isn't going to be able to go back to sleep. He got his phone from the nightstand and checked the time, it was only 1:36AM. He began scrolling through social media, trying to distract himself from thinking about that nightmare. He told himself he was going to stay up until daylight hits. He's too afraid to sleep in the dark at the moment. It was 2:47 in the morning. The sun usually rises at 6. Rain was extremely tired, but each time he closes his eyes, he thinks about the dream. No matter how hard he tries to forget about that dream, it kept crawling back to him. He sighed in annoyance, figuring out what to do now. He couldn't wait any longer to stay up. The only solution he could think of is crashing in another ghoul's room for support. However, he didn't want to be a bother to anyone.

"fuck it," He whispered to himself as he removed the covers off him. He then got up and walked out of his room. He looked at the nearby rooms in the hallway, selecting which ghoul to bother. He looked at the room across from his, which happens to be Aether's room. He had second thoughts at first but, it's at least worth a try. He walked towards the quintessence ghoul's room. He took a deep breath before knocking. He hoped that Aether wasn't in deep sleep. He waited for awhile before he knocked again repeatedly. Still no response. He let out a small whine. He actually was looking forward to spending the night with Aether. The water ghoul then had an idea. He exhaled deeply and placed a hand on the doorknob. Aether should be the type of ghoul who doesn't mind this sudden disturbance, right? At least, that's what Rain thinks. Rain twisted the door knob and opened the door slowly. He saw Aether sleep peacefully, hugging a banana cat plush. Rain saw that there was a little space for him to fit it. He slowly walked towards Aether's bed. Once he got there, he hesitated at first, but he managed to get the confidence to crawl onto the bed. He hoped not to wake Aether up but, that failed. Aether began to stir in the bed. He then slowly opened his eyes. Rain immediately got out of bed.

"Rain..?" Aether's voice was quite raspy.

"Hi.." Rain said softly.

"What are you doing here at this time?" Aether rubbed his eyes and stretched.

"I couldn't sleep," Rain said nervously.
"I had this nightmare.."

"Aww, you poor thing," Aether looked at him.

"Would it be okay with you if I.. crash in?" Rain fidgeted with his hands.

"Yes, of course!" Aether made some room for Rain to fit in.

Rain went onto bed again and took some time to get comfy. Although he may be comfortable, Rain  still tried his best to fall asleep but he just couldn't. Rain huffed in frustration.

"Still awake?" Aether giggled a bit.

"Yes.." Rain grumbled.

"Here," Aether turned to face the water ghoul and opened his arms for him to fit in.

Rain looked at him in surprised, "Are you sure?"

"If it'll get you to sleep and stop worrying," Aether shrugged, still smiling.

Rain nodded as he shifted towards him. Aether wrapped his arms around Rain and pulled him closer. Aether softly touched and rubbed the back of Rain's head. The touches of the quintessence ghoul was making Rain sleepy. Aether continued to pet and massage the water ghoul's head. Rain instantly fell asleep, light, gentle breaths coming out of him. Aether planted a small kiss on the top of Rain's head

"Good, good. Go rest now," He said as he cuddled with Rain, drifting off to sleep.
