In the city of New York, the reporter for the Daily Bugle, (Y/N) (L/N) was at the Stark Expo waiting for Justin Hammer to reveal something that could apprently rival that of Iron Man aka Tony Stark. (Y/N) was there to report on the event and if things go wrong, would suit up and become the last Justice League member alive, Superman. Ever since the self-proclaimed new god, Darkseid, killed The Justice League and his wife, Lois Lane, (Y/N) has never been Superman in the last 3 years. He moved to New York to get a new start on life. He enters the building and sits down waiting for whatever Hammer has to announce as the idiot himself came onto the stage dancing.
Justin Hammer: That's what I'm talking about. Thanks for coming. Ladies and Gentlemen, for far too long, this country has had to place it's brave men and women in harm's way. The Justice League proves that. They died protecting Earth from the alien warlord, Darkseid. It is true that Superman is the sole survivor of the League, but he hasn't been seen since then. For all we know, he could have left Earth. But either way, we lost the Man of Steel. But then the Iron Man arrived, and we thought the days of losing lives were behind us. Sadly, that technology was kept out of our reach, just as Mr Wayne did as he was revealed to be The Batman. That's not fair. That's not right. And it's just too bad.
(Y/N) (Quietly): What a tool.
Justin Hammer: Regardless, it was an impressive innovation, one that grabbed headlines the world over. Well, today, my friends, the press is faced with quite a different problem. They are about to run out of ink.
Two people come onto the stage and take the pedestal away.
Justin Hammer: Get that out of here. Ladies and gentlemen, today I present to you the new face of the United States military. The Hammer drone. Army!
Justin Hammer: Navy!
Justin Hammer: Air Force!
Justin Hammer: Marines!
Justin Hammer: Yeah! Yeah! Woo! That's a hell of a lot better than some cheerleaders, let me tell you. These will make The Justice League look like a bunch of clowns in costumes. But as revolutionary as this technology is, there will always be a need for man to be present in the theatre of war. Ladies and gentlemen, today I am proud to present to you the very first prototype in the Variable Threat Response Battle Suit and its pilot, Air Force Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes.
Everyone claps as James Rhodes is lifted onto the stage, revealing the suit.
(Y/N): Interesting.
Justin Hammer: For America and its allies, Hammer Industries is reporting for...
Everyone then hears something flying behind them and it is revealed to be Iron Man.
Tony: We got trouble.
Rhodey: Tony, there are civilians present. I'm here on orders. Let's not do this right now.
Tony: Give them a wave.
Justin Hammer: Hey, all right. Yeah.
Tony: All these people are in danger. We gotta get them out of here. You gotta trust me for the next five minutes. I tried to locate Superman for help but no success.
Rhodey: Yeah, I tried that. I got tossed around your house, remember? And no one has ever been able to locate Superman since the death of The Justice League.
Tony: True. Now, listen, I think he's working with Vanko.
Rhodey: Vanko's alive?
Justin Hammer: Yeah.
Tony: What is he?
Justin Hammer: What?
Tony: Where's Vanko?
Justin Hammer: Who?
Tony: Tell me.
Justin Hammer: What are you doing here man?
Rhodey: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Suddenly Rhodey's minigun is aimed at Tony, making everyone start to panic.
Tony: Is that you?
Rhodey: No, I'm not doing that. That's not me. I can't move. I'm locked up. I'm locked up!
The Drones then aim their weapons at Tony.
Rhodey: Get out of here. Go! This whole system's been compromised.
Tony: Let's take it outside.
The Drones and Rhodey fire at him. Rhodey takes off after him as (Y/N) decides that it's time for Superman to return as Iron Man couldn't do this alone.
