Frail bare foot bleeding legs stomped on the dried leaves and rocks which lay on the forest ground chasing safety which seemed like it was nowhere in sight.
The cloud covered red sky that let very little of the lights from the two moons in the sky spill on the troubled lands with no pity for the girl in the forest which needed it, rumbled with the howling wind that blew past the trees and caused leaves and young branches to sway reminding her that there was going to be a downpour.
Her instincts told her to run or there would be a bloodbath too. Ominous sounds of the angry heavens and wind grew louder and the desperate girl ran as fast as her mortal body could take.
The feral sounds of the wolves which pursued her grew louder and were now dangerously close. With nowhere else to hide as they would catch up to her soon with their inhuman speed not to forget that she was greatly out numbered she decided to try to put up a fight at least until help arrived."Please please. Please work. Please" She hoped desperately as she tried to apparate but nothing happened.
Her heart cracked at the failure of her magic to help her just when she needed it the most.
" No no no no" She chanted with her all her hope being thrown in the ocean. Was she Finally going to die today?
The fear kicked her adrenaline dispelling organs working faster as she ran but before she could get far she slipped on the patch of slippery moss that lay around a dead tree log which she fell over on the floor bruising the skin on her palm and her knees on the rocks that lay on the other side of the log.
"Ahhhh!" She yelped in pain but didn't get time to entertain the pain that spread from her hand to her brain as she needed to live. She struggled to get on her feet but her bleeding hands and feet put her at a great disadvantage.
Oblivious to the fact that the splitting of her flesh let the smell of her blood spill in the air giving the ferocious creatures her exact location as they tracked her scent.
When they were finally in sight she knew her doom awaited her.
She got a hold of a rock that lay beside her as if that would help her situation even a bit.
She knew deep down that it was useless as she was going against five werewolves who were much taller than her even when she stood upright and now that she lay sprawled on the ground, compared to them she looked minuscule.
Even with her magic which was presently an amateur, it would take just one werewolf to bring her down. But now she was in a forest which seemingly nullified her powers as long as she was on its lands.
Seeing the prey looking helpless as it crawled, a black wolf with sharp blue eyes leapt in attempts to finish the girl but before it could get close, a huge beast descended thunderously to the forest floor on cue with the sounds that the angry sky emitted.
It had Coal black skin which shimmered silver under the hooded red sky that let very little light out as if hiding the moons.
It's shiny skin had flat plate-like discs that covered all of his outwardly visible skin, from its clawed feet to the skin on its neck which held a crest on it defining it's gender.
With malice laced emotions swirling from the dragon in the air and directed particularly to the wolf before it, it swung it's left wing which was also coated in plates at the black wolf sending it flying in the air until it's back hit a tall pine tree.
The wolf got up to his knees on the floor already looking defeated, but with the prideful werewolf blood cursing through his veins that refused to back down he rose to his feet to fight the intruder. A foolish decision.
The minion werewolves on the contrary had stepped back the moment the beast intruded their hunt and whimpered as they saw their alpha being hit harshly by this merciless beast.
The Wolves approached their leader as it got on its four limbs and formed an arch as if instructed by the leader.
But before they could attack again, scorching hot flames of hell rose from the dragon's stomach up to its throat and spilled out of its mouth pouring down on them, giving them no chance of escape even if they wanted to.
The fire burnt them completely leaving very little burnt up flesh on their bones that now lay on the ground that had fire consuming the leaves where the rain of flames had touched. The leaves and branches in the burnt area sizzled and crackled like a huge campfire was lit in the area burnt.
As if on command, the sky released the rain which fell dousing the fire and drenching the surrounding vegetation with the girl and dragon also being hit by the downpour.
With the sounds of the werewolves that had died down the sounds of the beast's breathing that came with the company of its unique growls wafted in the air audibly despite the roaring sky and the sounds of globes of water dripping on the leave covered ground.
Slowly the beast took its time as it turned to look at the girl whose hair stuck to her face and was wide eyed with obvious fear reflected in her glassy blue eyes as she stared at the burning hot lava-like eyes of the beast which had saved her.
It's pupil was a long slit that divided the ocean of lava in its iris with only the top and bottom regions connected.
It's leather like eyelids rolled over its terrifying eyeballs as it blinked at her.
Her heart pounded against her ribcage faster as it peered at her, she trembled with no tears left to shed after all the running and crying she had done while trying to escape the wolves.
It didn't give her time to think of another escape endeavor which in this case was absolutely futile as it picked her up with its huge clawed legs then took to the skies with the girl dangling from its feet.
He held onto her arms which would break if he applied any more effort than he was applying but he was careful not to apply much pressure or claw her fragile skin.
The wind whipped pass them as they flew in the clouded red sky that now poured out it's contents on the world below them.
