Darkness can corrupt and drown a pure soul, it can gasp for the light but be sucked down into the abyss of evil. The only light to shine on them is the burning fires of Hell's flames.
The light of the holiness can surround and purify a tainted soul from the darkest of stains. This only happens when the soul has proven its worth and stood trial for its color and only then will it be cleansed.
Those who are worthy will follow the order and defeat the evil or succumb to its tainted darkness.
