CHAPTER ONE: magic bullet

SILAS WINCHESTER WAS DRIVING INTO BEACON HILLS. He had been called into town by Chris Argent, though he had planned to go to Beacon Hills soon, visit Peter, check on Derek and Laura. The last time he had seen any of them, was a few days after the Hale house was burnt.

He had to find out who it was. He knew it was an Argent, knew Chris would never do anything like that. But, Kate? Gerard? Those two were at the top of the suspect list. He had no prove through.

And then Chris called. He said Kate was in town. And the last time Kate and Silas were in the same town, there had almost been a fight between two hunting groups. The Argents, and the Winchesters.

Chris had been able to steer his family away from the Winchester's.
And, so, Silas said that the other could call him anytime he needed help, and he'd be there.
Although, at the time, it was more of a way to get to Kate easier and kill her.

But, he ended up becoming friends with Chris along the years.

Chris was unaware of how deep Silas's hatred for Kate ran, or why it did.

Silas never told him. He didn't want to take the risk of Chris telling Kate that Silas knew. Or that Silas had to kill Chris. He likes Chris.

By the time Silas reached Beacon Hills, it was the next day. And considering that Chris called him late at night, early in the morning, he had been surprised that he was able to get to Beacon Hills in such little time.
Although, it was practically dark.

Silas drove towards the hospital, deciding that he would check on his friend instead of heading towards the Argent house. If he saw Kate, he may kill her on the spot.

He forced a smile at the woman behind the desk. "Hey, I'm here to visit Peter Hale."
