My name is Stick, today is March 21 in the year 3050 me and my two friends (Dime and Kegan) don't belong here, let me explain.
**March 19 year 2023**
"Yo Kegan, get dressed and come down here Dime wants to go exploring in the woods again."I say with enthusiasm. Kegan comes sprinting down the stairs and we all head out the door walking toward the woods. As we approach the woods we see a different trail then the one we usually take. "Hey guys i kinda wanna see what that ones about." Dime says. "I dont think thats a good idea i mean we've never been that way and we dont kno what could be there." I say with with worry, "Isn't that the point of 'exploring' you know finding new things and exploring them we've been through that same trail over 20 times and i doubt anything will change now so we might aswell take the chance to go somewhere different" Kegan exclaims. I roll my eyes annoyed that he didnt take my side i sigh "Fine lets go". Dime and Kegan both smile at each other and we begin walking into the new trail.
"Whoa this place is cool i told you this was a good idea, Whoa whats that" Dime says running looking at a tree , it has vines climbing up the tree it seems to be growing in a particular area, we walk up th the tree to get a closer look. "It looks like a small door should we try and open it?" Kegan says. I reach towards the small looking door inside the tree and touch it feeling every dent and carve it has then I find a small acorn sticking out as if its purpose was to be a door knob. I pull the door open with the acorn to see an small metal scroll looking rod. "That looks really old, i wonder how long its been in there." says Kegan. I pick it up out of the tree and inspect it, there numbers on it and above the numbers it says month day and year with a button at the end of the rod, Dime grabs it from me and begins playing with the numbers "This is really weird" she says. Next kegan grabs it and flips the numbers so they read '03-19-3050'. "Why did you put those numbers in weirdo" i question Kegan. "Because i can" He says back in a rude tone. I try to take the rod back from him but instead we end up fighting with the rod back and forth. Dime trys to chime in and the rod flys into the air langing onto the button all of a sudden a big flash of pink and purple light blinding us. When we open our eyes we seem to be in a abandon alleyway, "What just happened where are we, WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO" Dime begins yelling in a panic.
"DIME, Dime calm down i think we some how traveled into the future." I say. "How do you know its the future." Kegan says. "Well if you looked around you'd see that there are literal fly cars, most of the trees are gone, there are see through phones, the ground is see through and you can see fish and stuff as if we were in a huge aquarium, theres a flying pig aswell, and everyone has more of a high tech style, everyone here looks smart, but what year is it?". Thinking about how we could find out i remember the rod. "Wheres the rod thing i think its a time travel device it could probably tell us where we are and we should be able to get back" I say. We all begin looking around for the time travel device. 'Found it" says Dime "it's missing the button and a few of the beginning numbers but it says we are in the year 3050" she says. I look around thinking about what to do "We need to fix it or we cant get home, lets look around for some store and we'll probably need some form of money we dont know how long well be here for and we need to fit in" Kegan says. Me and dime nod agreeing to what he said and we begin our adventure.
**March 21 Year 3050**
(Present time)
We've been here for three days now and we 've gathered new cloths, some money, and we've found 2 out of the 3 numbers we were missing so but still no button so far. Kegan and Dime went out to go find what they could and ive stayed back at our hide out to be sure we dont get stolen from, we switch jobs time from time to be fair and safe. Dime comes running in startling me with Kegan following close behind they seem exited. "STICK WE FOUND THE LAST NUMBER AND WE KNOW WHERE TO FIND THE BUTTON" Kegan says excitedly. "Thats amazing guys, lets gather up out stuff and get going we are so close to going home." I say. We all gather our stuff we make our way to a big junk yard, it looks like stuff from our time and some a big newer, theres normal looking couches, Tvs, a switch game, fridges, and other house appliances with mold and vines growing on it its all fenced in away from the new and improved world.
We climb the fence and land on a old mattress. "This is so wild back in our timeline this would probably be considered a gold mine all this stuff used to be so expensive" Dime says picking up Iphones, gucci, and other 'expensive' items."I guess this stuff no longer have any meaning to them." I add. "Listen i know this is all cool but i really wanna finally get home so can we get looking for a button that will fit" Kegan exclaims. We all look at each other then the big trash mound of stuff and we get to work digging and looking for a button. Minutes and hours pass by we are all starting to get tired but wedont want to give up since we are so close to getting down. More hours pass and finally, "GUYS COME LOOK" Kegan yells holdignup a bag. Me and Dime begin running towards Kegens direction. When we get closer we see hes holding a bag of buttons soem big some small some red some black or gold. "Yes now we just have to find one that fits.". Dime says. "Theres so many tho well have to get to work now but first i think we should get bck to our hide out so we can actually relax." I say with Kegan and Dime agreeing. We place the buttons in one of out bookbags and head back to our hide out. Before leaving i step on something that catches my eye, it seems to be a journal of some sort it reads "The end of humans", but before i could investigate it better Kegan and Dime call for me to hurry up. I grab the jornal quickly putting it inside of my bag and catch up to them.
We get to our hide out luckily finding it in the same condition we had left it in. Die and Kegan sit down pulling out the buttons and they begin to try and fit the buttons with the time machine. I sit down and join them, Hours go by it seems to be midnight now, Kegan and Dime are asleep there are only 5 buttons left to go through so i decide to leave the excitement of finding the right one for the morning when we are all awake. So i get comfortable and begin to red the jurnal i found earlier, theres time stamps it starts in 2024 reading off events to come slowly stating the end of the world i read through the 'chapters'. Zombie virus, The cure, Building a New World, The New World, Robots?, Robots Taking Over, Humans Come to an End, Robots New World, Hiding, Theyve Found us. It ends there the i frantically skim throught the journal more. The humans in this world are...Dead then are those "people" we see out there robots? We need to leave now if this is real then we need to prepare the present time so this doesnt happen. I get to the back of the book trying to find out who it belongs to i find it and my eyes widen it reads "In possession of Stick J.".
Theres no way its me all of a sudden i see lights and hear sirens. "I think theyve found us" i think to myself. I grab the time machine and frantically sort through the last 5 buttons to find the button the fits, i found it and there almost here i hear them getting closer. I wake up Dime and Kegan frantically explaining whats happening. The quickly understand and pack up or stuff getting our backpack on out backs and holdting the time machine in hand. "This better work" Dime says. Me and kegan nod i put in the date '03-19-2023', bac to where we came from. Just as we press the button to leave the people that we know now are robots bust through our hide out but we are already gone.
We open our eyes to see we are back in the woods next to the tree and the time machine is on the ground in font of us. We all look at each other and hug while crying. "We are finally home" says Dime. we all smile and nod tears running down our cheeks. "Lets go home and warn everyone" I say grabbing the time machine off the floor. "But first i wanna say that was one of the best adventures we've ever had also i really want some good food right now." says Kegan we all laugh and agree as we begin our walk home.
