Shikamaru and Hikari: Friends turned bitter Rivals??

*Dream*

"Shika," Hikari breathed out as the Nara began to kiss down her neck and throat. The sounds he was eliciting from Hikari,  amused and pleased him and so he went from kissing her neck and throat, to licking and biting any and all exposed skin. Causing her, to shudder in delight, under him as he continued his actions.

"Shika..." She said again but this time as a way to get his attention rather than pleasure. Therefore, causing him to stop in fear he was going too far.

"I'm sorry Hikari, am I pushing too far?" He asked. Hikari shook her head and said, "No, it's just I want you to know that I love you." Shikamaru's face tinged and burned, he knew she did but hearing it now, in this moment, made it a bit more special. He smiled and kissed her lips, "And I do you."

*Dream End*

Shikamaru woke up panting and sweating. Though, anyone would having a dream like he just did. They didn't go that far, but still it was another dream about his well childhood friend Hikari Sato. And honestly he felt pathetic, and weak. For, not only was that friendship, a little strained but now they seemed to act more like rivals than friends. Always competing on everything, from exams to, simple things as rock, paper, scissors. It was such a drag but, it was best approach the genius could think of, to express that he had feelings for the troublesome girl.

Yet clearly, it wasn't umm translating well. It was so troublesome and a drag, keeping up a friendship rivalry but at least he was still her friend. Sort of.  Shikamaru, sighed as he yawned, stretched and finally got out of bed and dressed in his usual(shippudden) ninja attire. And finally made his way to the living and dining room to have some breakfast.

"Hurry it up Shikamaru and eat your breakfast, your father has a mission today and you have to do your chunin duties to attend to," Yoshino nagged at her 17 yr old son.

'What drag and like always all she does is nag nag'

"Well don't just sit there staring at your breakfast, Shikamaru eat or both you and your father will be late," Yoshino nagged.

"Troublesome," He muttered to himself and finally began to eat his breakfast. 

Once he was done, he finally headed out the door and was on his way to the Hokage's office to find out his duties for today. While on the way there, of course he had to run into Hikari and team Kurenai. Who upon seeing Shikamaru smirked, and jogged up to him.

"Hey Shika, headed to see lady Tsunade?" Hikari asked.

"Yeah it's a drag but what can I do. Anyway did you need something or come to be troublesome?" He asked.

"2nd option," She said as the rest of her team caught up to her, hoping to find out what competition they were gonna do today.

Shikamaru sighed, "What will it be now? A race to lady Tsunade's, rock, paper, scissors, a staring contest?"

"No, nothing like that," Hikari said. 

"Then what troublesome woman?" Shikamaru asked.

"How about a simple game of tree hanging?" Hikari suggested.

"Tree hanging?" He questioned.

"Yes whoever can hang upside down, on that branch without falling in the river wins," Hikari said.

Shikamaru sighed. A simple hanging exercise sounded like such a drag. But he'd do it and go to the trouble just to amuse her.

The two went over to the tree, and using their chakra climbed up, onto the branch and hung. While her teammates watched.

"Umm you guys, we shouldn't keep Kurenai sensei waiting," Hinata pointed out.

"Relax it'll be over in a minute," Shino pointed out.

"Huh? How do you know Shino?" Kiba asked.

"Just watch," Shino said.

As if on cue, a certain black haired kunoichi by the name of Shizune came running to their location, "Shikamaru Nara! Lady Tsunade summoned for you 10 mins ago and this is what you're doing? Hanging upside down in trees!"

"Oink!" Said a certain pig(Ton Ton) that came running behind her.

Splash! Shikamaru had fallen out of the tree and into the river, while Hikari reminded hanging upside down holding in giggles as he was now soaking wet and being lectured by Shizune. However, it wasn't long till, Shizune turned her attention to team Kurenai and started lecturing them, "And you four get the the training grounds this instant and stop keeping Kurenai waiting!"

"Yes ma'am!" Team Kurenai said in unison as they scampered off to the training grounds, leaving Shikamaru in a dampen state and once again having a woman nag at him.

'Damn that Hikari Sato' He'd get even with her er somehow.
