Chapter 2

"Miss Lilian, you must wake up and prepare for your wedding"

An unfamiliar voice... who is it? didn't I die? and who is Lilian?

I slowly start to open my eyes. I was greeted with an unfamiliar face wearing a maid uniform alongside an unfamiliar room.

What the hell? Am I lucid dreaming?

"Now that you're up, I will go summon the rest of the maids to help you prepare for your wedding" said the mysterious maid lady as she left the room.

Wedding? what are they talking about? I've never even dated a guy, what wedding are they talking about?

This was too weird, something is strange

I got up from the giant bed and looked around the spacious room. I was in awe of the beautiful room, it definitely looked like it belonged to royalty in the olden days.

I stumbled upon a gorgeous mirror on the wall, only to find a reflection of a strange, but beautiful, women with blonde hair staring back at me. This isn't me, but no matter what action I perform, the women in the mirror did the same. Was this really me? What did the old maid lady call me? Lilian?

Hmmm... Lilian....Lilian...Lilian...

I wreck my brain to figure out why this name sounded familiar for a good minute and turn pale as I remembered, Lilian was the abusive stepmother in the novel I read. 

I did not know much about Lilian since she was only mentioned briefly in her stepson Yulin's backstory arc. All that was mentioned was that she was a princess from a small kingdom that married Duke Leon for political reasons and often lashes out on her stepson because of her infertility frustration.

I'm not sure why I transmigrated in Lilian's body, but is this not a good thing for me? I mean, compare to me who has no more family left, is very plain looking, never had a lover and works a tiring job everyday, Lilian is beautiful, rich, and getting a husband and a son today. Isn't this much better than returning to my old life? as long as I don't mistreat Yulin, he won't have a reason to kill me in the future and I can live stress free with loads of money!

I've decided, I will live a happy and easy life here auntie!

Amazing... Lilian really is beautiful

I stare in awe at my reflection. A pretty face with gorgeous blonde hair wearing a beautiful white wedding gown and beautiful jewelries.

The maids came in a while ago and with the instructions of the old maid lady, who I found out is the head maid, Lilian, I mean , "I" was all dolled up and ready to go get married.

As the maids were putting finishing touches on me, 2 older people entered the room

"Oh my dear Lily, I can't believe you're getting married already" said the women with tears in her eyes

"Dear we said we wouldn't cry remember? we don't want our Lily to cry" said the man as he gently held the woman's hand

I can only assume these were Lilian's parents. How did Lilian turn out so rotten with such loving parents? Maybe she was too spoiled since she is their only child? I remember reading a hate post for Lilian's character that mentioned that Lilian's mother couldn't get pregnant anymore after she gave birth to Lilian, and her father did not want to take in another wife since he loved his wife very much. The post was basically saying Lilian is an ungrateful bxxxh who doesn't deserve her loving parents after what she did to Yulin.

Although they weren't my parents, I could feel their love for Lilian, which vividly reminded me of my aunt. I'm not sure how Lilian acted with her parents, but loving parents deserve an appreciating daughter.

I walked over to them and held their hands

"Mom, dad, thank you for raising me. I love you both"

They both seemed a bit taken back at first but gave me a warm and gentle smile afterwards.

"Looks like our Lily has finally grown" said my father as he pulled us both in for a warm and long group hug. I fully accepted their embrace, but in my heart I was thinking of my aunt, she never got to see me get married. Auntie are you watching over me? I am so fortunate to have landed in a body with parents who love me arn't I? Even so, I still miss you dearly...

After our hug fest, I promised to write to them frequently and visit them sometimes. Then they escorted me to the carriage to see me off.

"Don't forget to write to us Lily. You are always welcome to come back if it gets too hard for you"

"Thank you mom, I will keep that in mind"

They kissed my forehead and we bid our farewells. I got on the carriage and began my journey to the Crox kingdom.

Wait for me Yulin, I will definitely give you a happy life so you don't end up as the antagonist!
