His hands are running through my hair, and I'm desperately clutching onto his shirt, keeping his body close. His tongue sweeps through my mouth. A moan escapes my lips as I lose control and Adam only holds me tighter. A tiny voice in my mind is trying to tell me this man is my boss.
I don't want to be reasonable. Instead, I match his rhythm and my hands soon wander down his chest and down his shirt. I feel his muscles tense under my touch, and I hear a moan escape from his lips. He mutters my name under his breath.
And as if it were a reminder of where he was and what he was doing, he stepped back. "I'm sorry, I didn't know what came over me. That was inappropriate.
Oh. He thinks our kiss was inappropriate?! "Maybe so, but I liked it."
"That's beside the point. I'm your boss. You're my assistant. This is a solid work relationship only."
"Of course. You're right. This shouldn't have happened."
"No. This NEVER happened. I'm going down to reception and book one of their available rooms for tonight. You can have the suite."
"They don't have a single room free."
"Fine. I'll lock myself in my room. We'll work together as required, but when this case is done, you'll be transferred to another associate."
"Sorry, what? Won't that reflect badly on me?"
"It won't. They'll just say I'm being difficult again. And that's alright. This was my fault. I compromised our professional relationship. It's best if we try and stay away unless necessary. I'm sorry."
"Okay." I walked past him like it was nothing and went to my closet to change into something sexy. Forget that asshole. I then went down to the bar.
I sit next to a handsome guy sitting near me probably in his mid-twenties. I order something to drink and sipped on it slowly. The man smiles and moves closer, addressing me in accented English. "You're a tourist?"
"No, just on a business trip."
"Bad night?"
"Is it obvious?"
"Drinking alone is never a good sign. I'm Jacob."
"I'm Jocelyn. So, sitting here alone... you must have a story to tell."
"Oh, I sure do. Do know what catfishing is?"
"Yes."
"Well, I've just had a first-hand experience."
"You definitely need to tell me more now."
He laughs, his eyes twinkling. "Alright, but don't judge me."
"Promise, I won't."
"I've been talking to a girl online for the past year. She seemed too good to be true - beautiful, smart, funny. She had an amazing job. She worked for an accounting firm, and they would send her abroad. But that gave her the perfect excuse to meet me. Until tonight, I decided enough was enough and flew here to surprise her. Turns out she wasn't 21. She was 47 and married with 3 kids."
"No kidding!"
"I wish I was. She told me she's in an unhappy marriage and found it easier to speak to me than him."
"I'm so sorry."
"So was I. So here I am, drowning in sorrows."
"I'm so sorry, that sounds terrible. I can't believe people actually do that."
"I should've seen the red flags, but I didn't want to."
"You can't blame yourself."
"It's hard not to."
"I think your bad night tops mine."
"Why?"
"I traveled here with my boss to work on a legal case. We somehow ended up sharing a suite, which was already a disaster for starters. But today I messed up in an important meeting. Then one thing led to another... he kissed me. Then he acted like an asshole, so I walked away and said he was transferring me to someone else."
"What a jerk. But I don't blame him for kissing you. You're beautiful. I'd find it hard to keep my hands off you if we shared a suite, too."
"You wouldn't have to since you aren't my boss."
"So tempting. Wanna go to my room?"
"Sure, why not." I followed him to his room and as soon as he closed the door, he kissed me. His lips were soft and luscious. I didn't want him to stop. He carried me to the bed and stripped me of my clothes, followed by him taking all of his clothes off.
