"Found you" Jack's voice played in my mind
"How do you do that?" I asked him
"Do what?" Jack joked
"When ever we play hide-and-go-seek, you always find me really, really fast!"
"You always find me too"
"But not really, really, really! fast" I pointed out
"Then, you're just slow"
"I'm not slow!"
"Really?" Jack grinned "Race you to the swing set! Ready! Set! Go!"
"Hey!" I called after him, laughing
I missed those times. Not always, but only when I didn't have Alex. Alex has always been there for me, ever since Jack couldn't. He didn't want to leave me. The same way I didn't want to leave him. Our friendship was strong for a 6 and 7 year old. We were always together. Of course, till that one day. That day, that broke my 6 year old heart, it still breaks my heart.
*Beep *Beep *Beep
I shook my head, my ringtone breaking my thoughts. I felt around my bed, looking for my phone, not finding it, I move on to my nightstand. Finding it, I see a message from Alex.
Laying in bed. On this beautiful afternoon, I presume , I smile, he knew me so well.
You presume, right. What plans do you have in mind?
I was thinking... Guess!
I give up
Okaye, then. I was thinking, maybe, a walk in the park, and...
And...

I jumped off the bed, checked my ombre hair in the mirror. Slipped on my sandals, and ran down the stairs, "Going out with Alex! Be back later!" I yelled to my mom, and rushed out the door, and stopped short. Where is he? I looked to the street, and didn't find his car.
"Looking for me?" Alex whispered in my ear, scaring me.
"Alex!" I turned around, my hair hitting his face, "You scared me!"
"I know" Alex smiled.
