"Rogues!" I heard somebody scream. We were in the middle of training, my second day. I remember as a child, my parents wanted me to be able to protect myself. I never knew why, I guess I found out when they died. Ashton ran to me, a panicked look clouding his features.
"Sam! You will go with Laura, and stay with her"
"No."
"No? Don't you dare say no to me at this time. I am trying to keep you safe. If you don't listen to me, I will have to force you." His once bright green eyes have become dark, an evergreen colour. His wolf has taken over now. "I will use force to keep you safe, even if it means making you unhappy."
"I need to fight. I-"
"I know you want to fight, this is too dangerous, you're human, you will get hurt. I don't know what I would do with myself if I let that happen."
"I, I just have this feeling. I- I think my memories are coming back. My real memories, and it has something to do with the rogues you are fighting." His hands are gripping tightly to my arms. His eyes are going from green to black, green to black. He is fighting with his wolf. "Please Ash. If I get hurt, I promise I will never disobey you again if this goes wrong." I sigh, bringing my hands up to cup his face. "Please."
He straightens, his muscles moving as he gets ready to shift.
"You will stay by my side, do exactly what I say, and you will keep your promise."
"I will."
"Alright then. Max! Troy! Dagger! I want you to be on her at all times, if one of them comes near, well, you know what to do." It only takes a second, and then there are four animals surrounding me, all very powerful, a tiger pounds up beside me. Max. Dagger, a leopord slinks beside Max. Troy, and elephant, sure he was made fun of because of size, But being an elephant can be helpful when your're fighting smaller creatures. Finally is a black wolf. With evergreen eyes. Ash.
They start towards the rest of the soldiers, with me jogging between them all.
The soldiers of the pack gather at the tree line, I can sense something hiding just beyond our sight. A sharp, tingling feeling starts at the back of my head. I close my eyes, wishing for it to go away.
"So, this is the oh-so-famous Alpha Ash." A slightly familiar voice snakes into my head, I don't open my eyes, something tells me not to. "Well, darling, I haven't seen you for a long time." What? Is he talking about me? A hand reaches my face, and growling fills the air. "Oh! You got yourself a pretty little mate here, well, I'll have to show him, he didn't fall in love with you. It's impossible to love something like you. Now, why don't you open your eyes, and maybe you'll remember who you actually are." I slowly open eyes. No. It's him. My, my dad. No. He, he hurt me. He hurt mum. And he hurt Ellie. My little brother. Oh, he was only four.
My eyes cloud over, recognition of my father, the death of my family. My fault, all my fault. They're all dead, dead because of me. Images of my childhood, well, as much as a childhood I could get. I was a monster, no wonder my father told Ash it was impossible to love me. I am a monster. The memories all come back. The endless torturing, the punishments, the murders. I've killed, I'm not the innocent human they thought I was. The scene in front of me disappears, letting me see the pack, shifters have shifted, the vamps are ready for a fight, and Ash. The Alpha is in front of it all, ready to fight, and protect his pack with his life. A tear slips from my eye. I don't belong, this is a loving family, I should have never have let myself believe I could actually make this my home. My home is in hell. With my father. And, and the other Demons like me.
