(The next day, 9:00 AM)

Abhyudaya and his family were having their breakfast, when they were greeted by a doorbell. "Abhyudaya beta, jara darwaja kholna na. Newspaper wala hoga shayad. [translation- Abhyudaya dear, can you please get the door? It might be the newspaper guy.]" His mother told him. Abhyudaya nodded and got up to open the door. On opening it, horror struck him.

There stood his Aunt, her husband and her 10 year old daughter. "Hi! Hum aagaye! [translation- We're here!]" His aunt said. "T-tum sab dupeher ko aane wale the na!? [translation- Y-you guys we're going to come in the afternoon right!?]" Abhyudaya asked in shock. "Dupeher ko bohot traffic hota hai. Issi liye hum sab jaldi aagaye. Bichari meri gudiya. Subhe jaldi uth gayi. Ise tumhari room main sone de dena haan Abhyudaya, theeke? Ab chal. Yeh bag le. Badi jor ki bhook lagi hai mujhe. Nashta kar leti hoon. [translation- There would've been too much traffic in the afternoon. So we all came early. Oh my poor doll. She woke up early today. Let her sleep in your room Abhyudaya, ok? Now come on. Here, Take my bag. I'm very hungry. I'll do with some breakfast.]" his aunt said while shoving her bag in Abhyudaya's hands and walking right in the house.

Aashvi came to him and their aunt's bag in her hands. "Main pakadti hoon woh bhaiya...[translation- let me hold it big brother...]" she said sympathetically. Abhyudaya gave a small nod. "Mujhe teri room main jana hai bhaiya. [translation- I want to go to your room big brother.]" Their cousin said while annoyingly exaggerating the A in bhaiya (r in big brother). Abhyudaya sighed an annoyed sigh and took Aashvi to the dining table to finish eating their breakfast.

After they were done, They grabbed their bags and bid their goodbyes to their parents. "All the best Aashvi beta. Abhyudaya goli li kya tune? [translation- Abhyudaya did you take your pill]" their father told them. Abhyudaya nodded. "Tum dono kahaan ja rahe ho? [translation- Where are you two going?]" The kid asked them. "School/College." Aashvi and Abhyudaya replied in tone of annoyance. With that, both of them left. Abhyudaya dropped Aashvi to school before heading to his college. '

Theek se paper likh. Questions theek se padh, aur phir attempt kar. Kuch bhi chod kar mat aa. Kal raat 3 baje tak padhi li hain maine teri. Mere Ghar aane ke baad paper dikha mujhe. [translation- Write your paper properly. Read the questions properly and then attempt them. Don't leave anything. I've taken your studies till 3 AM last night. Show me the question paper after I reach home.]' Abhyudaya messaged her.

(Two days later, [Saturday], 3:05 PM, Abhyudaya's place.)

Gautami rang the doorbell and waited for someone to open the door. 5 minutes passed, but no one came. She rang it again. Once again, no answer. She called Abhyudaya, but he didn't pick up. "Yaar yeh banda bhi na! 5 missed calls ke baad bhi phone nahi uthata. Darwaja bhi nahi khol raha hai! [translation- This man I swear! He's not ready to pick up even after 5 missed calls. He's not even opening the door!]" Gautami thought. She took one glance at the door and saw a small opening indicating her that it was open.

Gautami, In pure confusion, pushed it and went in. Upon entering, her ears immediately caught the sound of a loud commotion. Closing the door, she looked around to find the source of that commotion. Following the sound, she went to the kitchen. There, she saw Abhyudaya and two people, presumably his aunt and uncle, fighting. Abhyudaya, extremely furious, was blurting out insults accompanied with swear words. His parents were standing behind his Aunt and Uncle. His mother was looking worriedly at his Aunt and him, but his father's gaze was fixed on Abhyudaya, making sure he wouldn't pass out from his extreme anger (as it had happened before). His sister was standing slightly behind him, mad at her aunt and uncle and scared of Abhyudaya's anger.

Suddenly, His uncle grabbed a plate and threw it at Aashvi. To protect her, Abhyudaya jumped in between and got hit instead. The plate caused a big wound on his head causing him to bleed. "Abhyudaya/bhaiya!!!" Gautami, Aashvi and his mother yelled and ran to Abhyudaya who was sitting on the floor on his knees with a hand on his bleeding head. His father gave a tight slap on his (Abhyudaya's) uncle. "Bhaiya! Usko kyu maar rahe ho!? Aapke bete ko maro! Mere pati ki kitni insult kar raha hai woh! Usko maro! Isse nahi! [translation- Big brother! Why are you hitting him!? Hit your son! He's insulting my husband so much! Hit him! Not my husband!]" his aunt said while hugging her husband. His father was infuriated. "Mera beta insult ar raha hai ya tu!? Tere so-called Pati ne mere bete ki jaan le li hoti agar woh plate uske gale ko lagti toh! [translation- My son's insulting you or are you insulting him!? Your so-called husband would've killed my son if that plate hit his neck!]" he said. His sister stayed quiet and so did her husband.

His father ran to the three women who were beside Abhyudaya. "Rukmini, first aid kit la! Jaldi! [translation- Rukmini, bring the first aid kit! Hurry!]" His father said after putting his arm on Abhyudaya's back to prevent him from falling to the floor. As soon as Rukmini (his mother) got up, Abhyudaya lost all the strength and ended up passing out in his father's arms.

(Approximately 2 hours later)

Abhyudaya slowly opened his eyes, only to see Gautami, his sister and his mother sitting beside him and his father standing near the foot of his bed. By looking around slightly, he realized he was laying down on a hospital bed. He tried to sit up when a few whimpers from his mouth alerted his parents. His father rushed towards him and helped him sit up. Aashvi and Gautami looked worriedly at him. "Sar kaise hai tumhara ab Abhyudaya..? [translation- How's your head now Abhyudaya..?]" His father asked him. Abhyudaya answered with a small nod. "Bohot dard ho raha hai? [translation- does it hurt a lot?]" he asked him. Abhyudaya nodded slowly. His father gently caressed his head with a sigh.

Aashvi held his hand sympathetically while Gautami looked at her bestfriend in pure worry. "Mera bichara Gol Gappa....dara diya tha mujhe tune....aisya phir se mat karna beta... [translation- My poor Gol Gappa...you scared me so much....don't ever do this again sweetie....]" His mother said with a voice crack. Abhyudaya, once again, nodded. "Aap beech main kyun aaye bhaiya!? A-aapko meri bajese kitna lag gaya...[translation- Why did you jump in between big brother!? Y-you got hurt because of me...]" Aashvi sobbed. Abhyudaya caressed her cheek. "Tera bada Bhai hoon main...har Raksha Bandhan tere rakhi baandne ke baad main shapat leta hoon ki teri raksha karoonga...Ab vaisa nahi kya, toh kis naam se mujhe tera bada bhai bolne ka aadhikaar hoga mujhe..? [translation- I'm your elder brother...every Raksha Bandhan, after you're done tying me the Rakhi, I swear to my life that I will protect you...now if I don't do that, Will I have the right to call myself your elder brother..?]" Abhyudaya asked her.

Ok so, all my international fans, let me clear a few of your doubts here. First, what is a Gol Gappa? Gol Gappa is an Indian dish in which spicy and sweet watered down relish is poured in a circular cracker-ish material with some fried salty balls (a lot smaller than cheese balls.) with some curd on top. Here's a picture just for reference.

Next, What is Raksha Bandhan? Raksha Bandhan is an Indian festival in which the sister ties a Rakhi, a thread with a design on it [the best I can explain it 😅], To her her brother which represents a bond between the Brother and the sister and means that the brother has to protect his sister at any cost. Well, I hope your doubts are solved. If not, then feel free to leave them down in the comments, I'll be ready to solve them. I hope you all enjoyed! 😊❤
