Chapter 6

"There is a brave man who stood against Gatou...and to Inari, that man is like a father to him, even if they're not blood related." Tazuna started the tale with a sip of alcohol, while his daughter nodded her head in agreement at what he had said so far. "However, everything has changed since the incident. Like I had said before, Kaiza, a fisherman who came here to follow his dreams, became everything to this village. Our brave hero of the waves. He truly is one of a kind. He even saved everyone when there was a catastrophe, alone. For Inari, that man was his own personal hero. One day Gato came..."

Tazuna rubbed his face as he remembered that awful day, while his daughter looked at the picture with pain swimming in her eyes. Team 7 waited a second, giving the two a moment, before Kakashi asked what happened. The Bridge builder sighed, before he gave them an answer, shocking the genin, while Kakashi narrowed his eye. "Gato decided to torture and kill Kaiza in front of everyone."

Everyone felt the tension at those words. For a second, Naruto was about to stand up, but paused when Sakura suddenly spoke up. "I'm sorry, but may I ask why do you keep saying 'is' for Kaiza-San? You said that Gato put him to death." Sakura didn't want to be rude, but she didn't have any other way to get those words out any other way, and besides she had a feeling if (M/n) was still inside, he would have been even ruder without even knowing.
Kakashi's eye widened, not sure whether he should scold the girl, who he thought was going to be his only well behaved student, that she shouldn't be so blunt like that, or praise her for noticing that. Naruto's and Sasuke's eyes widened because they didn't really payed attention to that slip up, but also to the fact that Sakura was so blunt with bringing it up.

Before any of the males of Team 7 could speak up, Tsunami suddenly let out a small giggle, while her Father laughed, both happy that someone noticed that. "Didn't think you would notice that pinkie, but to answer your question, it's because Kaiza didn't die that day," Tazuna took a sip of water, while Team 7 stare at the man like he was crazy.

"You see, before that happen, I say a month before, we found a certain (h/c) haired child," Tsunami spoke up as her eyes seemed to lighten up as she recalled the memory, taking over the role of telling the story from her Father, who let out a small chuckle. "Kaiza was the one who found (M/n) and then brought the boy straight to our home once we found out that he was lost. (M/n) was a strange child at first, but we quickly grew fond of him as he stay inside our home, as we tried to find his parents...but we quickly found out that it might not be possible since he show signs of having memory lost...whether it was something that was said just a minute ago, or it just happened in front of his eyes. He'll forget it so fast that it was hard to say if we had thought we done it or not."

Tsunami paused for a second letting what she had said sink in everyone's heads, not knowing that her words had surprised or confirmed what they had thought of the Forgetful male. "On that day, we had left (M/n) at home, since he was still sleeping, thinking it was just a normal day. Gato had his bodyguards gather everyone to the town square and that was where Kaiza was being held for everyone to see. It was like everything was lost...when I heard Kaiza's screams when his left arm was cut off, I felt like I couldn't breathe...that the world felt like it was gray and sounds were slowly disappearing..."

Tsunami's eyes slowly darken and her hand curled up into a fist, slowly tightening before loosening up when her Father placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Gato ordered for Kaiza's other arm to be removed and everyone panicked...but we are cowards. Too afraid to even attempt a step forward to help the one we called our hero...too afraid to save the one who help us when we need it," Tazuna continued for her, as guilt, shame, and disappointment welled up inside him, aimed at himself as he remembered what happened that day and how he had coward away, instead of trying to save the man who became his son in law.

"Just when we thought all hope was lost...a little (h/c), a lost miracle appeared. Little (M/n) appeared there like he was meant to be there at that moment. Of course we were afraid. Scared that we weren't just about to lose our hero, but also witness a child who hasn't even figured out who his family is, be killed."

The old bridge builder paused for a second as he took off his glasses as he thought of how to phrase his next words, even after all these years, the man still couldn't believe his eyes at what happened that day. A small silence cover over the group, thankfully it was broken by Kakashi, before Naruto could even speak up. "If I may ask, what happened?" The Copy Ninja spoke in a low soft voice, honestly curious on how the (h/c)ette was saved and to hopefully get some more information on the boy.

"...somehow the grunt missed Kaiza's arm when (M/n) appeared out of thin air next to them, kinda like your ninja tricks you know, but without the smoke. Gato order for (M/n) to be cut down...it happens so fast. One second, we saw the swords being swung down and the next the bodyguards were on the ground in agony. One had his arm twisted, while the other guard's arm looked like it was broken. Then before anyone could say a word, (M/n) touched Kaiza's leg and poof. They vanish into thin air."

"Two days passed after (M/n) disappeared with Kaiza, and for a second we thought Gato had found them, but he reappeared as suddenly as he did when he had disappeared, but this time with only a note." Tsunami smiled as she remembered how hard she had cried that day and how she somehow let out even more tears when she had read the note, before continuing the story, well what is actually going on right now.

"Kaiza is alive, but he's not able to come back here until Gato is either gone or..."

"Or his hold over this place is weakened. That's why you're building that bridge," Kakashi finished the sentence, now understanding what's going on, but at the same time feeling a little disappointed that there wasn't more information about (M/n).

After hearing the story, Naruto decided that he wanted to show Inari that heroes do still exist and bring this little family back together again. So in a flash, the blond left the house to train more, while everyone just looked at his empty spot.
