Mariam was sitting in her chamber. She was sitting in front of her mirror, her face void of any expressions. Her eyes emotionless. She looked at her reflection and gulped, a tear rolled up on her cheek. She wiped it quickly.

Handan sultana entered inside Mariam,s chamber calling out her name which she calls him out of love.
Mariam stood up from her chair and looked at Handan sultana. Handan sultana ran to her and cupped her face. She held her by her shoulders. She looked at the bed and found the bridal attire still kept on the bed untouched.
Yeh kya hai Mariam? Aap tiyar kyun nahin hui ab tak? Barat aane wali hai beta.
Handan sultana said looking at Mariam.
Ammi humein yeh nikah nahin karna Abu ko kahiye na. Samjhaye unhein.
Mariam pleaded. She held Handan,s hands and cried.
Handan,s eyes got teary. She cupped Mariam,s face and wiped her tears.

Handan said teary eyed. Mariam looked at her mother. She held Handan,s hands.
Toh kya humare jazbaaton ki koi keemat nahin hai. Humne bachpan se le ker aaj tak wohi kia jo Abu ne humein karne ko kaha, per yeh humse nahin hoga Ammi jaan.
Mariam pleaded. She dropped herself on her knees and sobbed.
Handan sat on her knees in front of Mariam and held her by her shoulders. She made Mariam look into her eyes. Her heart broke seeing tears in Mariam,s eyes. She brushed off Mariam,s tears.
Shehz....adi ye...h aapke abu ka ak...hri faisla hai.
Handan said trying to control herself from breaking down in front of her daughter. Even though she was sultan Shah Zahid,s wife, she never questioned his decisions knowing that how short tempered he is and how much he hates when someone question,s his decisions.
Mariam jerked away Handan,s hands and stood up. She looked at Handan and wiped her tears angrily.
Theek hai. Hum tiyar ho ker aate hain.
Mariam said emotionlessly.
Hum jante hain aapke liye bahot mushkil hai yeh humari beti.
Handan said. She patted Mariam,s cheek and walked out from the chamber.

Ayesha called out entering inside the chamber as soon as Handan left. She locked the door and walked to Mariam.
Mariam,s eyes teared up and she hugged Ayesha. Ayesha hugged her back teary eyed.
