"Cameron can you please turn the music down!" Casper yelled over the radio which was playing Taylor Swift which was Cameron's favorite. He reluctantly agreed and solemnly turned it down."Michael continue." Casper said.
"So it's supposed to be a more modernized Romeo and Juliet. But without the death because you know, this is high school and nobody would want to see the boring Romeo and Juliet with death and annoying people." I answered. Us four were currently in Cameron's car driving to school. The school play was coming up and Casper, who doesn't pay attention at all to the news, asked what it was about.
"Sweet. And who are you gonna play Mikey?" Jason asked.
"Hopefully Romeo. Plus I heard that Juliet is played by Victoria." I smiled.
"Wait I thought casting isn't until like tomorrow." Cameron stated.
"It is actually today, but Victoria's mom's friend is the director and she really wanted to be Juliet so her being a little princess got what she wanted." I rolled my eyes. Victoria was extremely pretty but she was annoying sometimes.
When someone thinks of Victoria Carmichael they automatically think of all the stereotypical blonde in high school. She is lead cheerleader with the star quarterback boyfriend and lives in a rich family with rich parents. She is the type of girl who would never in a million years go out with someone like me.
But a boy can dream right? Really I seriously don't think there is one guy at our school can say she isn't pretty.
"That's weird how Victoria Carmichael would want to do something like the high school play. Do you think she was bribed or something?" Jason questioned.
"No I think I overheard her talking in cheer practice and she said that she wanted to try something new. Plus more attention." Jason answered.
"What were you doing by the cheerleaders Jason?" I smirked. Jason just blushed and stayed quiet. Cameron slowly turned up the music and we all stayed quiet until we got to the school.

Later that day, after school, I went to the theater room for auditions. When I walked in there was lots of people with props and costumes. The director was sitting behind her desk with her light and a couple scripts and a clipboard with pencils and pens. She turned and smiled when she saw me.
"You must be Michael Clifford!" She greeted.
"I am." I said slowly.
"I have heard so much about you! When I heard you were gonna do Romeo and Juliet I insisted I directed it. Well co-direct. Mrs. Camp wanted to still help." She babbled. I just smiled and shook her hand. When she took her seat I did the same and she called up people to audition.
15 minutes later and I was called up to the stage.
"Okay Michael, read your monologue out loud." Mrs. Camp smiled.
"But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east and Juliet is the sun!
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief
That thou her maid art far more fair than she.
Be not her maid, since she is envious;
Her vestal livery is but sick and green,
And none but fools do wear it. Cast it off.
It is my lady, O, it is my love!
O that she knew she were!
She speaks, yet she says nothing; what of that?
Her eye discourses, I will answer it.
I am too bold: 'tis not to me she speaks.
Two of the fairest stars in all the heaven,
Having some business, do entreat her eyes
To twinkle in their spheres till they return.
What if her eyes were there, they in her head?
The brightness of her cheek would shame those stars,
As daylight doth a lamp. Her eyes in heaven
Would through the airy region stream so bright
That birds would sing and think it were not night.
See how she leans her cheek upon her hand
O That I were a glove upon that hand,
That I might touch that cheek!"
