The day broke and Tommy had soiled his diaper. He was in need of some food too. Out of no where Tommy heard a chainsaw buzzing. He was afraid zombies figured out how to use weapons, the sound was getting closer and closer til it finally stopped. Tommy looked out the window and seen a man accompanied by a pregnant woman.
They looked up into the tree house because they saw something moving. "Who is out there? Hello? Speak if you want to live!" yelled the man making his chainsaw buzz.
"Jim don't be so harsh it could be a child or a person who is deaf or mute," says the woman, she gave Jim a stern look as she lay a hand on his shoulder.
Tommy was suddenly blind by something shining in the brilliant sun. He took a glance and seen it was a fairly large ring on her right hand. Where they married? thought Tommy. "Herro? Herro? Help me pweas." Tommy said peeking his head out the door.
"Who is there? Show yourself," Jim says. "Barbi be careful and stay back, it could be some deranged maniac." He lays his hand on his wife and holds her back a bit.
"Jim I think it's a child!" Barbi rushes toward Tommy. She notices the ladder rung missing. "Jim lift me up there is a small boy in there."
"Barbi you are almost about to burst, let me go up and get the bastard down," Jim says in a rough almost scary way.
"Jim don't be such a jerk," she says giving him a look that could kill even the strongest of men.
"Ok sorry dear," Jim gets up to get Tommy down from the tree house. "Why can't he just come to us?"
"Jim... stop he is probably scared or stuck," Barbi says with a less deadly look.
"Oh! Hon it was locked," Jim says as he unlocks the door and hands Tommy down to his wife. "Is he okay? Not turned or anything is he?" Jim says with a suspicious look at the toddler.
"Mommy?" Tommy says as he hugs Barbi.
"No sorry honey, I'm not your mommy," Barbi says looking at the boy. "My name is Barbra but you can call me Barbi, this is Jim. Do you live around here?"
"Yes oder ver, me is Tommy." Tommy says pointing to the two story house next to where they are. "Mommy dead, she get bit and now s-she a zomni! She eee me!" Tommy sputters while he trembles and tears roll down his face.
"Shhh don't cry, we will care for you," Barbi says as she leans toward the boy. "He looks about three or four hon, not very old." She whispers to her husband. She turns around and squats down to the boys level. Tommy falls into her lap and sobs because he lost his mommy and Jim is kind of frightening. "Let's take him to his house. There is probably food and supplies and a bed for him." She says holding the now sleeping toddler in her arms. "Soon Tommy can help with food and the baby we should let him stay with us, he will die out here alone."
