Third person POV
The sun blazed blindingly in the clear blue sky, hiding halfway behind the looming erection of GD Industries, it gave an illusion of a golden gem perched atop a mountain of glittering crystals.
A sleek black limousine steered into the premises. A footman in black suit opened the door from the outside with a low bow.
A towering man emerged from it, stalking past the revolving front doors of the building, completely indifferent to the greetings that followed him past the vast luxurious lobby with a team of entourage trailing behind him. The aura around him dark, with a bone seeping coldness that made the employees freeze in their steps, their heads bowed.
They didn't dare look up for fear of being petrified by the ominous glare of Medusa in the person of Kieran Gastordale.
The Gastordale family were well reputed and recognized to be at the top of the country's hierarchy. However, after his father's retirement, the 28 year old became the successor introducing various subsidiaries and the further extension of the hotel empire thereby sky-rocketing the family's fame and wealth.
"Oh Mr Gastordale." Mr Steve Todd the middle-aged branch manager boomed as he trotted frantically from the opposite side of the lobby and bowed so low that his nose was almost touching the floor.
"What a pleasant surprise! You didn't notify us that you were coming today." He added with a strained smile that affirmed that this meeting was anything but pleasant.
"Is that so? I presume I now need you to grant me permission to visit my own company, Mr Todd?" He asked with a crook of an eyebrow.
Todd suddenly became flustered
"N-no no Sir. F-forgive my rudeness. I didn't mean to..."
"In reference to the consequences, better do well to address your superiors properly in future." He cut in coldly.
With that, he swept past the trembling man towards the elevator.**************
KieranI haven't been here in a while, The office looked the same as the last time I was here. It was a vast circular room located at the top most floor of the building.
On the eastern part of the office was a mini library enclosed in an illuminated glass case. The lounge on the western side was made up of a couple of posh settees, a mini bar, theatre system and convenience.
My work desk was piled to the brim with the branch's transaction folders throughout my absence. I gave those my unwavering attention as I wouldn't want to miss any errors or sign of slacking.
Soon, my phone vibrated with my secretary's name flashing on the screen.
"Bolton. I told you not to call me until you find something meaningful." I spoke coldly.
"I did Sir." He said breathlessly.
"What did you find?"
"Three women met the description, but one of them particularly......
checked all the points. From her social media activities, it seems like she runs a blog...."
There was a clattering of keys.
"Get straight to the damn point Bolton." I growled impatiently.
"Right. She's also with the Press. I looked into the company's staff data base and.."
Hacked you mean.
I noted with a secret smirk.
"....Just a sec, I'll just transfer it to your hard drive."
Clatter clatter clatter.
"There..."
"Got it."
I opened the file and the first thing my eyes took in was the small portrait picture on the top left.
It really is her.
There was no denying it.
"Good job, Bolton."
He was quiet for a while, probably surprised as he didn't get that often.
Better not get used to it.
"Of course sir."
Two weeks prior, He had turned up to my office with a letter."What's this?"
"M-my resignation Sir."
I scrutinised him for a while. He was trembling like a leaf in the rain.
"Why?"
"I figured it would be better to do it myself before you fired me after the incident last friday, I am deeply sorry Sir"
"Fair enough. Though I must admit I was rather taken aback. The alcohol did a good job in loosening your tongue. Actually scratch that, be true to yourself Bolton. Do you or do you not want this job anymore?"
"I do want it but..."
"Then it's settled then."
"What..?"
"I'm saying I'll let you keep your job...."
"R-really... Thank.." He beamed, only for his shoulders to slacken again.
"...on one condition. Take it as a punishment for your little outburst."
"I'll do anything sir" He said looking determined.
"I'm tasking you to find someone for me. I'll send you the details, In the meantime, duplicate those for me."
I waved at a small stack.
"Yes Sir."
As he turned to leave, I spoke again.
"Bear in mind that you're not indispensable but I'll be generous so as to not add a deadline. Failure to comply, risks you your goddamn job. Understand?"
He gulped and nodded.
"Words."
"Y-yes sir."
I ran a finger on the miniature face on my screen and I touched my lips, remembering the taste of her, the scent of her, her soft body flush against mine.....
Damn it!
How dare she....?
Does she think she do all those things and get away with it?
No matter...
I've found you gutsy.
Now I'll know what the hell makes you so special.Comment and vote, Lemme know your views___ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
