~~ Chapter 3 ~~

Elise's POV

I woke up to Damion snoring right by me. I thought I asked him to sleep on the floor. Ugh, I guess I have to deal with his snoring now. I quietly hopped out of bed and went to my bathroom. I brushed my teeth and then put on my gym outfit. I was gonna go to the gym for a little gym session.

I arrived at the gym and when I walked in I was greeted by Chris. I didn't know he lived over here nonetheless went to the same gym that I did.

"Oh, hey Chris." I said.

"Hey, I feel like we are meant to be together since we keep running into each other." He said. He giggled. I instantly got butterflies in my stomach.

"Yeah, maybe we are." I replied.

"So you think we would make a good couple." He says. I was shocked.

"Well, I don't know. Like I said, maybe." I said as I walked over to my locker.

I think Chris and I may have been flirting with each other. Maybe even falling in love.

Chris's POV

When I got back from the gym I couldn't stop thinking about Elise. She was so pretty. She was funny when she didn't even have to. She was so perfect from her hair to the way she dressed. I've normally never fallen for a girl who has rejected me but she just feels different from all of the other girls I've talked to. She's even friends with my brothers. She acted like she wanted to date me at the gym. I couldn't believe she almost felt the same way as I did.

"Chris! Come look." Matt shouted from the living room. I was startled out of my thoughts and went downstairs.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Elise started following us on TikTok and Instagram." Nick said. They were huddled around Nick's laptop on the floor.

"Wow. I noticed she did that after we had dinner together." I told them.

"So she followed us this entire time and you didn't bother to tell us or even show us." Matt said.

"Sorry. I just didn't think I was a big deal." I explained.

"It's whatever but, why were you looking if she did or she didn't?" Nick asked.

"It didn't it popped up on my notifications." I mentioned.

"Chris, you turned off your notifications because a girl kept messaging you. I think you like Elise." Matt said.

I didn't say anything else and walked up stairs to continue drowning myself in my thoughts. Maybe I was in love with Elise. Maybe she was in love with me too. I've never fallen for a girl like this in my whole life.

Elise's POV

I went to work as usual but today Luke seemed different. He wasn't drunk or anything. He just seemed sad or depressed.

"Luke, my man. Are you okay?" I asked. No response.

"Luke, it's okay you can talk to me, I'm always here for you." I told him.

"I just- My girlfriend broke up with me last night. And then she moved away. Without saying goodbye." He said.

"Aw, not Ashley. I really liked her." I said.

"Me too. Or so I thought. She acted like a bitch the last couple weeks. She didn't want to hang out. She didn't respond to any of my texts and she completely ghosted me at school." He explained.

"Luke, let's go clock out and get some food." I said. I grabbed my wallet and my phone and we headed out.

"Elise, you didn't have to. I'm fine, really." He said.

"No, it's my treat to you. You haven't had good in a while. I've seen it." I said.

Just then Chris, Matt, and Nick walk into the restaurant and see me and Luke in a booth laughing and making jokes. I hope he didn't think Luke and I were dating. We aren't, Luke just went through a break up. I see Chris storm out and run back to their car. He thought me and Luke were dating.
