It is a weird feeling for sure when i stepped inside the huge building. It looked so advanced despite being out of no where. I knew what i signed up for when i got accepted as a trainee in BigHit Entertainment. I grew a close bond with some guys despite being the only female in the room. Five of them would be as the world knows, tomorrow x together. I've been especially close to HueningKai due to close in age and some other trainees like Heeseung. Yet I don't know where i am as in geographically wise, i know i signed up for the survival show "I-Land". I really want to debut along with some of the contestants since it would be a co-ed group yet the catch is that only one girl survives!! I walk inside and i was honestly amazed by how the door slides to the side to welcome me inside the place, i gripped to my backpack and my duffel bag. I was really nervous. I entered the place and faced ahead. I went inside the room to see already some contestants were there which took me by surprise, i honestly thought i was the first to come. I did a small wave but jolted when the platform began to shift forward, i could hear some of them laugh a bit from my unexpected reaction, and I couldn't help but to smile sheepishly and went to a random open seat and I could feel their eyes on me as i sat down. Immediately i took notice of one of them already. Heeseung.
"Oppa? You're here?" I asked as i smiled a bit wide as relief washed all over me as i saw him wave back to me. I immediately got up and sat next to him as he made space for me and kept me a bit close to him. He was a bit protective of me despite having a four year gap. He was like an older brother to me. I smiled though appreciating his gesture. Soon the room was a packed as more trainees entered boys and some girls as well. We were all catching up with one another or even meet new people and get to know them better.
All of a sudden there was a loud alarm blaring repeatedly as the room turned red. I gripped onto Heeseung's jacket as i looked around a bit feeling some sweat slide down my face. The feeling was a bit scary. Soon the alarm ended and a male voice was heard over the speaker, it sounded like an old man, maybe around his thirties? He spoke, "Welcome contestants to I-Land, the survival show that determines your chance to succeed and debut as a K-pop idol. As you can see the limit have exceeded. There are more than 15 of you. Each unit or soloist must come up to the stage and showcase their skills. Each would vote on who to keep and the others who did not make it would be sent to the underground. You may begin"
Silence fell onto us, you could hear a pin drop. Each one of us looked at each other with anticipation. Whoever goes first would be setting the standard and should not mess up. I felt Heeseung leave my side and joined in the middle with other contestants to discuss who goes up first and he ended up going. I was honestly excited for him a bit as i leaned in close to give my full attention to the performance. I could hear murmuring spread around a bit about how he was considered an ace trainee. I felt a bit off, of course i am great but no one knew that since I would have all my evaluations in private making me build up walls around me. One thing they all knew was on how great i was at rapping due to the auditions showcased live. I was anxious, vulnerability is a quality sometimes needed in these kinds of shows. Slowly, he walks up the stage activating the stage light to focus on him. I smile as i knew he is indeed an ace trainee when he began his performance
I stood up cheering and clapping for him after watching an amazing performance end along with others. He stood still on stage as we all began to discuss and checked if he get to be here or underground and began to vote. Majority of us raised our hand and I couldn't help but to feel my heart race from excitement as he sat down beside him. Underneath his feet, the tile lit up a neon green to indicate his success. I gave him a side hug as a smile beamed in my face. I was excited and confident now and looked at three other trainees, as we were assigned as a unit and went up next. We agreed on who's parts we were going to sing or rap and got into position, i obviously chose to rap as we chose the song "Gunshot" by KARD, I was going to perform one of the male rappers as we wanted to showcase that a kpop idol can perform anything. My smile vanished in a blink of an eye when the music began and looked ahead at the rest of the contestants and began to do my parts perfectly

I panted a bit when we ended, my heart beating hard against my chest hardly as i tried to catch my breath as i looked at the other trainees and slowly made my way in a line between a female trainee and a male trainee too. I was honestly nervous to meet them, hence i bowed a bit as a thank you and kept my gaze down. When it was time to vote, they did it individually. I was confused since i got the least claps, which my heart sink to my stomach as i dragged my legs towards my seat and faced down as the tile beneath me turned neon red. I was crushed, and Heeseung looked at me with a bit of sadness in his eyes as he placed his arm around my shoulders rubbing the side of my arm in order to comfort me in some way. "I'm sorry Mia...but think about it, take it as a chance to redeem yourself...ill wait for you" he spoke in a whisper near me and gave me a reassuring smile. I slightly nodded my head and looked ahead at the stage. Soon the tiles on the floor showcased random patterns of greens and reds.
Once again the speaker made a static and we all became quiet. "All passing contestants may approach the sphere...the rest of you form a line to head towards the exit in blue" as he spoke a blue light shown on a different door that was across the door that made us enter in the first place. My heart sank once more as i gulped standing up and looked at Heeseung once more. He nodded his head once more to reassure and went ahead. I faced the trainees that got red with me and walked towards them and hoped that my dream is still going to come true
