Chapter 3:Love?

I didn't have time to think before Yuan saw me.I ran into the restroom near the garden and locked myself in one of the empty stalls. I was panting heavily. Panicking thoughts came in my mind as I sat on the toilet seat. "What if Yuan tells the whole school about this? What if he thinks that I'm a creep? Or even worse, what if he thinks that I'm obsessed with him?" Suddenly, I was interrupted by the sound of someone opening the door. I tried my best to be quiet but oh god I think I'm not wearing my lucky socks today. I accidentally made a creaking sound then I heard someone yell."Hello? Yurika? Are you in there?" It was Yuan and he sounded worried."Ye-yes I'm alright, just having a bad stomachache." I said hesitantly."Alright then I'll meet you outside once you're done. Th-thanks.."I said with a groggy voice. I felt relieved after I heard him go outside the restroom. He definitely saw me but why didn't he say anything about it?

3rd person's POV:

After freshening up, Yurika left the restroom and found Yuan waiting for her outside."Yurika, Are you sure you're okay? Do you need to go to the clinic?" Yuan asked so cautiously that his worried tone was very visible."Yes, Yuan I'm fine, I already told you that." The girl said with an irritated tone.
"Is she okay Yuan?"
Yurika heard someone spoke behind Yuan."Yea, she's alright." Yuan turned to the person behind him and revealed who it was. It was the girl, the girl who he was with, the girl he kissed, his girlfriend. Yurika was speechless and had no idea what to say.
"Hi, My name's Caitlyn, Yuan told me what happened, I hope you're okay now."
"Y-Yurika, nice to meet you and..thank you for your concern."
"Yuan, maybe you should invite Yurika for dinner later, you guys live close to each other right?"
"Oh yeah, Yurika can you come?"
"S-sure.."
"Great! Then it's settled, you will accompany us at dinner at Yuan's place."
"I don't think that I can afford to be a third wheel."
"Oh don't be silly, you won't be one. Besides I could really use some tips on being Yuan's girlfriend since you guys are close, maybe you could led me some?"
"Of course.. Anything for Yuan's lovely girlfriend."
Caitlyn smiled as if there's no tomorrow and Yuan looked like he was no different, he looked he was overjoyed with glee, he looked like he was where he belongs.

Yurika's POV:

After I got back home from school, I simply tossed myself on the bed and let out an irritated groan."Damn it! Why do I feel weird when I see her with Yuan?!"
Am I in love with him? No, before the bench incident, he was practically dead to me."Ughhh This is so confusing! ... I need a breather."
I went to the balcony to get some fresh air. But he was just stuck on my mind like a piece of gum. I wondered if I ever did meant anything to him other than his rival. The thoughts kept creeping into my mind that I just fell asleep exhausted from thinking too much.

When I woke up,I squinted my eyes and looked at the time. I hurriedly got dress with no time to admire myself in the mirror. As I was walking towards Yuan's gate I felt an intense feeling of embarrassment. I had arrived late at his house right after they generously invited me into dinner. I walked through the door, when a girl came and hugged me so tight that it's almost like she's trying to choke me. Maybe I should just brush these thoughts away, after all she was kind and sweet. The three of us sat down at their massive dinner table. And Yuan's butler showed us the menu filled with delicious delicacies. They both picked meat filled dishes. And I was trying so hard not to do the same and instead picked a safe meal, a healthy one. While our food was being prepared, Caitlyn started telling Yuan about her new fashion line. But Yuan looks uninterested in the conversation. When I felt he's eyes fell on me. Like he was a wild animal spying on its prey. I tried my best to maintain a poker face and not to make it obvious that I was bothered. Eventually, I shrugged it off and focused on playing games with my phone. When our food finally arrived, I saw them helping each other eat. With every smile, every laugh everything they do makes my blood boils hotter than a fiery sea. There comes the time that I just couldn't take it. I was forced to make up excuses just to leave early. It was obvious that Caitlyn was trying to taunt me, now that she's dating Yuan. But why do I care anyways? That guy's a heartless jerk who'd been my enemy since the day I was born.

Time skip : The next day

Yuan and Yurika was giving each other death stares as class went on. Their classmates noticed it but they didn't say a word about it. At lunch time, Yurika was eating alone on one table in the cafeteria. When suddenly, Caitlyn sat in front of her.
"Hey Yurika, why are you sitting here all alone?"
"Oh.. Uh, Mizuki and Chihiro are both sick today."
"That's so sad.. But I'm sure they'll get better in no time. In the meantime, I hope you don't mind me and Yuan keeping you company."
"O-Of course."
Caitlyn and Yuan sat in front of Yurika. After they talked for a while, they ate their food in silence. With every awkward stare coming from Yuan. Yurika's cheeks turns red with embarrassment.

After the meal, they all head to the gym for P.E. class. Yuan held his girlfriend's hand while walking. And Yurika felt uneasy at the sight of it. The teacher ordered them to do some squats. Many students failed in doing what's said because they're obviously not used to it. The couple, on the other hand had other plans because they were having their sweet time in front of the others."Way to make us feel single." One of the students muttered."Don't act like you're not." Another answered.

Yurika's POV:

There it was again, the feeling of rage, hate and disgust. The feeling of jealousy. It was so strong that I couldn't help but glare at them. It made me swallow my pride and admit that I wanted Yuan for myself. That I was in love with him. And that I will do everything to keep Caitlyn away from him.

3rd Person's POV:

Time skip:

After school ended, some students gathered by the gate waiting for someone to pick them up. While others went home either by themselves or with a few classmates. Yuan was waiting by the gate when Yurika saw him. She walked up to him and asked."Hey Yuan, why haven't you went home yet?"
"Oh, I'm still waiting for Caitlyn. I promised that I'll go home with her."
Without any warning, the sky became cloudy and tiny drops of rain fell from it. The rain slowly got intense and people started opening umbrellas.
"Yuan, do you have an umbrella with you?"
"Umm, no I don't think so."
"Caitlyn seems to be taking long, maybe she already went home without you?"
"Maybe, since she's quite forgetful."
"In that case, do you wanna go home with me? We can share my umbrella."
"Oh no, I'm good but thanks for the offer tho."
"But you could get sick if you walk in such a bad weather."
"On a second thought, let's go before the rain gets worse."

The day ended with the two leaning against each other as they walked across the wet roads.
