Name: Jasmine Lillian Jackson
Age: 17-18
Gender: Female
Ancestry: Jasmine is of mixed ethnicity. Her father is African American, while her mother is Eurasian.
Superpowers/Special Abilities: Jasmine's superpower is to change the way she looks depending on the situation and how she's feeling about herself at the time.
Physical Looks and Attributes: When Jasmine looks like herself--in other words, her superpower isn't kicking in--her skin is medium in color, becoming slightly darker when she's spent time out in the sun. Her hair is black with an auburn undertone depending on the lighting. Her hair is a mixture of curls that spring back naturally and lose coils which in turn makes dealing with her hair frustrating. Her facial features are similar to those of her mother rather than her father, thus drawing more attention to her being of mixed ethnicity.
Education: Jasmine is in her senior year of high school. Classes include AP classes and grade-wise, she makes high marks. Still, these high marks don't come easily and are a stress factor as she's worried about grades dropping below her parent's expectations, thus finding ways to take on extra credit projects when there is a chance of her grades dropping. She's also aiming for college even though she's not sure that's for her because that is her parent's expectations. If she weren't focused on her parent's expectations, she'd be looking towards culinary school as she enjoys cooking. Some of the grade expectations also come from social pressure as well.
Personality and Quirks: Jasmine as herself is shy, nor does she like standing out as herself, having dealt with being bullied for not fitting neatly into a box when it comes to her ethnicity, which in turn has resulted in her not noticing her classmates didn't make a big deal of her being of mixed race.
Skills and Interests: Jasmine is into cooking because it relaxes her. She also likes hiking on the trail near her home with her father, the one athletic activity she is into. She has two cats and a dog, a corgi. She also watches Anime and reads comics, whether they be Manga or not, but she has a liking for characters that don't have to show their real self to other people, which means superheroes and magical girls. She also enjoys reading to help her escape from what is going on around her.
Likes and Dislikes: Jasmine likes cats, dogs, and other animals, finding them relaxing and a change from dealing with people. She hates theater, having tried out for theater in middle school, thinking this would allow her a way not to be herself, only for the situation to fail miserably. She also dislikes school, both from a social perspective and because she finds keeping her grades up stressful. She also hates athletics even though her father is into track and basketball, while also interested in watching sports with her as she is an only child.
Strengths vs. Weaknesses:
Fears and Aversions:
Jasmine has a fear of social situations, at least social situations where she has to be herself. Her powers allow her to be someone other than herself, yet at the same time don't help her in facing the fear of facing the world as herself. The fear stems from how she feels being a person of mixed ancestry and how it is noticed by her classmates and others around her.
Relationships: Jasmine gets along with her parents, spending time cooking with her mother and walking trails with her father. Yet, she also doesn't feel like she's meeting her parents' expectations despite the stress of making her grades. She's also dealing with bullying at school, with the tactics her bullies use making it difficult to get help from an adult. She doesn't consider herself to have friends because of this, although there are individuals who do consider her a friend. She is an only child with quite a few cousins, yet feels out of place among her cousins.
